  • After less then 4 months 30 pounds down I cheated.

So, I slipped and cheated for some reason I started craving today and I was making a pan of brownies for my hair dresser. Mind you I make goodies for others all the time. But today for some reason I felt the need to eat half the pan. I feel disgusting. I have been so proud of myself 30 pounds in less then 4 months and never cheated. I hope this never, ever happens again. I feel so ashamed and I don't even like cake and brownies.

I could never make brownies and not eat them!
So you bake all the time, never give into the sweets, and you are aware of your first slip-up. Don't beat yourself up over it. You did the right thing by coming here, holding yourself accountable, and writing how you felt about it. Just jump right back onto the band wagon!

I will, thank you! I'm not sure what happened I have never had a craving like this ever. huh I'm going to review my menu for the last 2 days and see If I triggered it by eating something that maybe known to lead to cravings so I don't eat it again. Thanks everyone!!!!

Hey, everybody has slip ups. You lost 30 lb and you will continue to lose weight. Just stay on track and everything will work out, and you should not feel disgusting. Consider it a learning experience. Instead of falling into the doldrums, get right back on the path.
The problem is feeling disgusting or whatever. That's when the feeling of failure creeps up and you'll really sabotaging your efforts.

You might see the scale jump up a bit, but believe me, it's only water weight and glycogen repleting your liver then muscles. It will take a few days, maybe, to get back to your current weight.

It's a big deal to you now, but in the scheme of things it was a momentary, minor event.
You'll be okay. There are far worse things you could of done than eat some brownies.

I think of it this way: I live low carb. For the rest of my life. Occasionally in this low carb life I may slip up and have a piece of birthday cake or give in to a pizza craving. The key is that it will be an occasional slip. The next day I will get up and go back to my low carb lifestyle. I have lost 30 pounds this time around and it has taken me nearly 9 months. If I look at this as a diet, it will be a failure. I look at food as fuel for my body, not as a treat or reward. Don't beat yourself up, just do better tomorrow!!

Soon after my extreme sugar intake I became extremely tired and had to lie down what an aweful feeling. I haven't had a nap in nearly 4 months, lesson learned. I didn't even get to enjoy it at all. Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement. Bless all of you! Thank you!

Bad brownies. Glad you fought back. You'll win the second round for sure.

Congrats on your progress so far
I find that if I slip up it's due to emotional reasons and not really hunger. We all slip up on this WOL and it's ok, tomorrow is another day

Yeah, I was talking to this woman I know that has had a lot of success on the atkins plan and her comment to me when I complimented her on all the hard work she has done was: Yeah, it hasn't been perfect. there have been a couple of slips up, but getting right back on and doing it the right way is how I know I'm making this life change. I don't dwell on my slip ups, I dwell on my success!
Move past it. It is what we do in every ohter area of our life. Don't make this any different!

Good luck to you and congratulations on your success thus far. Keep it going!!!!!!
                    Peace out! Lizzy B
