Spaghetti Squash in UK!!

I found spaghetti squash at Waitrose yesterday!!

As they keep a few weeks if not cut open I bought a few so I can eat them over the next few weeks.

I imagine other supermarkets will have them too so make sure you look if you want to try this not usually available induction vegetable!

They look a bit like a golden honeydew melon with a thickish stubby stalk.

Wow Elizellen, thanks, have they always gotten this in at least once a year? i dont even where my local waitrose is but am going to have a look now. always wanted to try this x

I have only seen it last year and the year before. i think others have posted finding it in Sainsbury or Asda in previous years, but we don't have these near us.

I am so glad you found those! It is supposedly available here year round with a peak in the fall, but is one of many veggies I never noticed before Atkins and, had I noticed, would have been certain I didn't like it without even trying it.

It is my new veggie this week and I'm seeing great possibilities for it in my meal plans.

I cut mine in half (down the middle longway) then scoop out the seeds & wet fiber stuff in the middle. Put plastic wrap or a cling wrap of some sort on top and microwave for 7-8 minutes - spoon out the "spaghetti" and top with butter.

You can cut them in half remove the seed & wet fiber in the center, invert and bake for a half hour to 45 minutes (until the outer shell is limp) -- spoon out the "spaghetti" and top with butter....delicious!!

No Waitrose anywhere near where I live, I've been looking for these for ages.

Try phoning Sainsbury or Asda or Tesco to see if they have them. They seem to only be available for a few weeks in the summer.
