I think BMI is an easy and convenient tool but has its limitations as mentioned in the article. BMI may not work for a lot of very obese people who lose a lot of weight and are left with saggy skin. This can add anywhere from 5-15#s on the scale (and therefore a higher BMI) when in fact the person is thin.

The BMI reads for me at 5' 4" ranges from 111 to 151 so it realy hard to know to know where my stopping point should be, but Iam realistic enough to know that 111 is NOT it at almost 47yrs old for pete's sake!!!

What really scares me is that there ARE alot of Diet Crazy younger one's out there that are going to do any thing they can just to get to that 111 just because the BMI Scale has the option on there for being 5' 4"!!!

I'm an Atkins crazy younger one! lol I am 5'5" and my healthy low weight is supposed to be 111 pounds. Hah! Yeah right! I would never want to be that thin. Eck. I'm not petite or small boned so I would look sickly at that weight. I also have a lot of muscle mass so I really don't rely on the numbers, just how I feel.
But you are right, kaylasgram. I know a LOT of girls my age that have to be as close to 100 pounds as possible to make them feel good. It's scary.

I am just barely under 25 BMI.If I got to 22.5, I would be rail thin.23.5 would have me with about 15% body fat.Probably a good stopping point.
