  • anyone else find that...

does anyone else honestly find that the littlest bit of food anymore fills them up?

I've been doing this now for 8 months and ya'll know how fabulous I think this lifestlye is. i absolutely LOVE it.

One thing - though - even after 8 months and being close to goal, I find that that when i eat lunch - around 1 p.m. - i'm stuffed until dinner (usually around 7 or and sometimes i'm still not even hungry BY dinner time...!

for example - yesterday I had a few pieces of thick roast beef for lunch, dipped in mayo, around 12:30 p.m. (i dunno - maybe a total of about 4 ounces?...) and a little bit of my broccoli that I brought (maybe 1/2 cup, if that)...

and seriously - by the time I got home and was getting dinner ready for DH - around 7 - I just wasn't that hungry. I had a few bites of dinner and that was it for the night. whereas i DH had a full plate of brown rice and the meat (don't worry i didn't have any rice, just the meat/tomatoes from the meal).

    Breakfast was, yesterday:
    2 sausage links (no-anti-biotic, no-nitrate/nitrite, etc...buy mine from whole foods - not even fatty - maybe 10 g fat for 2)
    protein shake:
    1 cup coconut milk beverage - 50 cals/1 g carbs/5 g fat
    1 scoop greens/whey protein mix - 50 cals/1 g carbs/0g fat
    1 tbsp flax seeds - 30 cals/.5 g carbs/2 g fat
    1 tbsp coconut oil - 120 cals/14 g fat
    1/4 cup blackberries - 25 cals/4 g carbs

so that satiated me until lunch around 12:30 or so...
    that's a total of 375 cals for breakfast with about 31 g fat 6 g carbs

then i eat that small lunch
    4 ounces roast beef
    1/2 cup broccoli

and seriously i almost didn't even WANT dinner last night. I had a few bites of it (made an eye of round roast in the crockpot - brought the rest for lunch today) but that was it. I mean maybe about 4 ounces of dinner last night.

it's just so weird to remember when i was eating low-fat and how i was CONSTANTLY hungry ALL the time...i'd eat breakfast around 8 and be starving by 11 - now i easily go to 12:30 / 1

and eat lunch around 1 and usually would be starving by 4 and now i can make it almost all day long!

it's just nice to stop and think that my body has changed SO much - it's not constantly wanting/needing food.

I feel the same way and it is so frustrating because I know I need to eat, but when I do I feel sick. I try to have smaller meals but sometimes it just doesn't work. Yet other times I am really hungry. Irritating, but worth it.

That is me too. Today I was out doing errands, looked at the time..2:30. Suddenly I realized I never ate lunch.

By the time I got home I was soooo hungry! So I ate lunch at 3:30 and now have no idea when I will be able to eat dinner.

now that im a body builder i try to eat as much food as i can

but its soo hard with atkins makeing you not hungry xD

i still manage to eat 5-6 eggs for breakfast everyday

but it would prob be better to eat 3 eggs 2 hours apart from each other but im to lazy to do that

i know in the past i was never to lazy to eat i should make a whole bunch of atkin snacks so i can easily eat them through out the day

It is so true! I pulled my lunch out of my bag a few minutes ago (I just got to work), and my reaction was 'it is so small - I'm going to be hungry'. That was the old me talking! That 'small' lunch will easily hold me until dinner time. I hope that someday those smaller portions will seem normal to me - portion control was definitely an issue for me in the past. I can hardly believe how little food I need to feel satisfied now

I began eating off smaller plates when I began Atkins. While I knew that the composition of the diet was important, I also knew that I had to be "aware" of how much I was eating.

To this day, five years later, I still eat off a small plate. And in restaurants, I ask for the take away container with the meal and divide it up before I begin to eat.

I had yogurt and berries this morning before I went to work out. I just had a few more berries when I got home ... I think the healthier I eat, the more efficient my body behaves. Good to go until lunch.
