  • I was unloyal

I stopped Atkins last Monday (8/10) because I was tired of not being able to eat everything everyone else can. My daughters wedding was 8/8 and I was good. I didn't eat anything at her dessert reception. I am tired of meat because I am not really a big meat eater. I went to Weight Watchers. I have gained 2 pounds and feel like absolute crap!!!! I have been good and stuck to my "points" but have been eating grains and have eaten sugar. My fibromyalgia is way out of wack. I am back, I am starting induction. I am dumb

I tried Weight Watchers--I starved on it and gained weight from overeating. Atkins is my way of life...we all have to live and learn!! Just glad you didn't get totally derailed before you came back!!

Disloyal would be not returning to Atkins! Think of it as being temporarily misguided, but you have returned and that is what is most important.

          Congratulations.

And if you are bored with foods, better move up the Carb Ladder, up to OWL Rung 9, and then you'll be able to eat pretty much what others eat. Not a slice of sugary cake, of course... and a slice of white bread won't be the best idea either, but pretty much anything else as long as you stay within your CCLL.

            Welcome back to Atkins.

              Re: I was unloyal

First, congrats on your daughter's wedding. Happy, but stressful time for the mom of the bride and it probably didn't help that you may have had some "dessert stress."

I had a pretty much vegetarian pre-Atkins so I hear you on the meat stuff. I had somewhat of a beef/bacon/sausage fest my first week of Induction but now I'm back to more fish & poultry. And the FAGE Greek yogurt I can have now has enough protein to sub for meat sometimes.

Anyways, I don't think you were unloyal. This isn't a cult! As I see it, our main objective is to get healthy and for many of us, lose weight. And I think we owe it to ourselves to find the best plan that works for us. You tried WW and quickly saw that it wasn't working. Kudos to you for making an adjustment before blimpo-ness set in.

              p.s. You are not dumb.

                  Re: I was unloyal

eat protein other than meat -- cottage cheese is what I use when I don't want "meat" -- try a new type of protein other than what you have been eating....if you only eat chicken eat something else....I rarely get bored or tired of eating on plan because of the variety of choice we have.

                  Good luck.
