  • Aaahhh!!!

Just completed my 1st fit day journal and I'm consuming about 80 g protein and only 50 g fat!! Can someone please help

I need menu advice, but i really have a problem with eating teh skin on meat and don't like mayonaise (which seem to be the 2 main forms of increasing fat content without the protein)

    Thanks

    Nina

    Re: Aaahhh!!!

What exactly are you eating? If you post a menu (include quantities), we can just tweak that to make it a bit higher in fat.

Are you using some fat when cooking your meats? Oil & vinegar or some dressing on salads? Butter on things like cauliflower or broccoli? What about eggs? Those will also add some fat to your menu. Some cheeses like Camembert, Brie or cream cheese are also high in fat.

Dips and salad dressings made with sour cream, the suggestions above about butter, cooking with butter & oil all add fat. So do fattier cuts of meat, like chicken legs/thighs rather than breasts.

Is coconut oil allowed on induction? I know there is some debate about what a coconut is ie nut/fruit/seed but none of these are induction friendly anyway, which means at least rung 3 of OWL dosen't it?

                Hi
Thanks for the replies, will try sald dressings that's a good idea
my menu at the mo is

                break: cheese omelette
                snack: avocado

lunch: prawns or chicken salad with cheese, olives
                snack: cheese again

dinner: fish or quiche with some veg/ or salad

                drinks: decaf coffee with cream
                lots of water

I think i'm having too much cheese as there is lots of protein which outweigh the fat.

ps. If you are on OWL which people have suggested i do since i only have 10 pounds to lose, can u have peanut butter?

Natural peanut butter (just crushed peanuts) is allowed on the Nut Rung (Rung 3)

Cook the omelette in your oil of choice. Add a dressing with fat to the chicken salad. Use an oil of choice when cooking the fish and include butter or other oil in the quiche recipe.

We are limited to 4 oz. of cheese in a day during induction, but that is definitely a lot of cheese. Use fat/oils when cooking veggies. An example would be sliced zuchinni or other squash with some tomato and onion slices for flavor, seasoned and baked (or nuked in the microwave). Before baking, sprinkle lightly with parmesan, drizzle olive oil on it.

I add a tablespoon of butter to my eggs when cooking them and then add the cheese... doesn't really seem 'greasy' when I'm eating it...

My largest 'fat' content for the day though is a 20% fat hamburger patty...

                            Hey Liv,

Thanks so much for taking the time out to answer this question.

I love coconut oil and am going to try frying the amazing-sounding "chicken tenders" recipe in it. Coconut chicken finger, here I come
