  • Confession time

I've been slowly cheating my way back to a bad WOE. In the last week, I've had a handful of potato chips here, a handful of cherries there (I'm not on the fruit rung yet), a small piece of chocolate there. On most days, I stay fairly close to my CCL, and I haven't gained any weight, but I feel myself creeping into willingly cheating at any and all times.

So, today I'm back on induction starting today. I haven't decided if I'll go a full two weeks or one week and fast track back to Rung 2. That's going to depend on my cravings. I don't mind induction, but it does get a little boring.

I'm posting it here to keep myself honest. Wish me luck all.

Luck! The first step is always admitting there is a problem, right?

Just do induction until you get back in keotsis --then go back to the rung you were on -- no reason to go back. Good luck.

Good for you for realizing (and admitting to yourself) that you were headed off plan. Remember: You want to hit 180 before your European vacation!

            Re: Confession time

just remember - you WILL be able to eat certain foods again (well, maybe not potato chips)...but cherries are rung 7. dark chocolate (85%-100%) can be used at rung 3.

seriously - you're NOT setting yourself up to NEVER eat certain foods again...you just have to realize that you are "re-learning" how to eat. You WILL introduce those foods back into your diet - but you must be patient and learn to enjoy the foods on the rung you're currently on - and when you feel comfortable enough to move onto the next rung, do so and savor those new foods.

To me, OWL is like a surprise...it's like "ok - so i've said no to this type of food for a while and now I can eat it again! so i'm going to SAVOR it and make it a once in a while food."

especially the nuts rung - i LOVE nuts and in the past (low-fat time) i always felt guilty eating a handful of nuts because of the fat...now I KNOW that the fat is GOOD for me!

plus, once you're on that rung you introduce almond flour which is FABULOUS for baked goods.

but yeah - don't get hung up on looking at foods like they're ALL "bad" and that you'll NEVER have them again. you will - but you have to choose, for now, only foods on the rung you're on then move up and add back in!
