  • Serious but gross question

So I was just wondering. What does it mean if your poop floats??
I have never really paid attention, but since starting this program this has been happening to me. Any insight would be greatly appreciated

PS. I finally weigh less than what I weighed pre surgery 2 weeks ago. I gained 10 lbs with the surgery and weighed 163.5 before surgery and now weighed 163 Yay!!!

I don't think it is bad. Just a change in diet can cause it. Keep going.

I seem to recall Dr. Oz on and episode of Oprah mentioning that it meant that you have a lot of fat in your poop! Fat floats! On Atkins, trying to lose weight, this is a good thing! Traditional medicine may argue that you are not being healthy to be consuming so much fat, but the more fat I eat on this woe, the better my weight loss, and for me, the better my blood glucose gets! It is all a matter of who you talk to! I would say don't worry about it. But it is up to you!

            Hope this helps!

Nah the fat thing is not true. Dr Oz is full of it (as usual)

I have heard that about the fat thing also. Dr. Oz is the poop expert haha. I am not worried, and figured it had to do somehow with my new way of eating. It was just an observation. Thanks Connie

What about really dark poop during induction. I am on day 7 of induction I ate fajitas last night without beans and rice, only ate the meat with pico digio and guacamole. When I went to the bathroom this morning my bowels were very dark, I am very dark on my ketostix.

Dark usually means higher iron content.

Thanks, probably from the meat I ate. This is all new to me so I was caught off guard.
