I've been doing Atkins since May 25th. The first month was great...then, something happened. Maybe it was having my kids home for summer break, asking for ice cream and treats, or maybe it was just me and a weakness for sugary treats. But I cheated, not once or twice, but several times over the summer. I got headaches and heartburn and vowed every time not to do it again. But I still did. I had suggestions by various people to move out of extended induction but I wanted to stay here until I reached my halfway point (100 lb weight loss).
Then today I read one of those long posts debating Atkins and in the post it was mentioned several times that people who fail at Atkins fail because they aren't doing it right...or stay in induction too long. Well I don't want to fail, so I'm moving on even though I haven't hit my 100 lb mark. I am now official in OWL. I'm scared to leave extended induction but determined to never cheat again. This is forever for me and I don't want to mess it up. Thanks for all of the great informative posts! I'm off to stock up on more yummy fresh veggies...

I was worried when I first started reading your post that you were leaving Atkins. Moving to OWL isn't all that scary and I think you will find as you move up the levels, that it is easy to accommodate any temptations with on plan foods.
