  • August total

Well Today is one month on plan
Sorta dissapointed in only 10.4 lost. Was hoping it would have been more.
I really have been cheat free
I have had Ice coffee a couple of times, maybe thats what is slowing it down.
Yesterday I must have had some gluten without knowing it. I had sauages cooked in a crock pot in Rago, I rinsed them off before eating the 3. SO ether the sauages or the Rago had it in there, I was so sick last night, and bloated from it today, which could mean less of a loss. It is cooler here lately and school is starting, so I will be moving more. I just wanted the first month to get adjusted and all that.
    Thanks for listening
    Sandi

Sausages have lots of sodium, you are probably bloated from excess water. 10 lbs lost in a month is awesome. I doubt you will see any months in the future with a weight loss faster than that... Your body needs to lose the weight at it's own speed. Let it do it its own way. You just keep plugging along and you will keep feeling great and losing...

              Re: August total

I totally understand what you mean and where you are coming from... We are the same weight, however, I started at 417... That was from last April 08... now I started with weight watchers, then just did my own thing, then started Atkins in Jan 09 at about 402... so since then I'm down to 344 as of this morning. In some how it is disappointing, you feel you are trying so hard and it just isn't happening like all the other people on the "before and after" thread, ect. However, if you really sit and calculate the peoples success stories, you will see an average of 2.75-3.5 pounds per week... Now that is an average so some are lower and some are higher. Unfortunately, mine is usually a little lower.

What I can tell you is 10 pounds is defiantly in the right direction. If you do it this month, and next month, and for the next 10 months after that... you would loose approximately 120 pounds in one year!!! I'm sure you didn't gain 120 in 1 year. It is hard because we want it right now!!! We want to wake up and every day the scale go down and it show our efforts are paying off. For me I have realized that isn't going to happen.

What I know is Atkins is the best for me and my body. And little by little those pounds add up. I mean I've lost 73 pounds from my highest.. .that is alot of weight, however, it has been 1 pound here, 2 pounds there, 8 pounds this month, 12 another, 5 another, ect... I know I have been discouraged many times, but then I realize... I'm doing this for my health and for life... it is not something I'll do for the next month or two and then go back to what I was doing. This is a life style change and it takes time, so please be faith in yourself and know you are doing the right thing and just keep going, day after day and you will be at your goal weight before you know it...

              Best of Luck.
              ~Amanda
It is okay if it takes me a little longer to get there, besides this is where I'm going to stay forever and that is a really long time!!!

I was reading some of the ingredients in some sausages my husband brought home the other dayfor supper and they had bread in them. You have to be really careful with sausages and their ingredients.

congrats to both Sandi & Amanda ~ all of us wish this could happen faster, but speed is not the answer. Getting to a healthy weight ~ and STAYING THERE ~ is what we want. More likely than not, a speedier loss will not benefit us in the long run.

you ladies are an inspiration, truly!

Great Job. !0 pounds in a month is great. That is a healthy way to lose weight and hope that you keep up the great work Let me know how you do in September. This has been my second full month on atkins and I lost 18 pounds my first month and ten pounds in August so hopefully we can both keep losing 10 pounds per month
