  • what should i weigh?

    Ive been on Atkins 90 days and have lost down to 215 from 251,
    weight charts say I should weigh under 200 lbs. I think i would look sick
    if I lost another 15 or 20 lbs. Im five nine what is realistic?

    That's what I used to think. I was 240, and am now 192-ish. I was as low as 184 recently. I'm also 5'9". Trust me, when you hit 184, take all your clothes off, stand in front of a mirror, do 3 jumping jacks, and report back. You'll see that 170 or below seems more preferable.

      It depends. Some people are more muscular then others, so 200 lbs on you might look different than 200 lbs on another 5'9"-er. You might want to check what's your body fat percentage.

        Good point. From my perspective (as a former hockey player and serious weightlifter in high school college days), 185 is still too big for me. I think 170 or so would work for me, but you're right, everyone's different.

          I started just under 260 and am just under 6 foot 2.Weighed 186 today.Pretty muscular for a 54 year old.I can easily get to 175 before I would look too thin.Maybe a tad lower.Bought a medium size polo shirt last night, down from XXL.When my body fat is low enough to see my abdominals easily, I'll be there.No amount of exercise will achieve that it.The belly fat will hide the muscles we all have.
