    Re: Plateau of Doom

Glad to hear things are going well. I think there are fiber supplements there without sugars and fake sugars. You just have to look around. Psyllum husk may be a good one or ground flax ( I like ground flax) Just make sure you drink plenty of water when you use them.

      Re: Plateau of Doom

Mister -- when you stop feeding junk into your body (chips, bread, rice, etc) your body doesn't have as much to get rid of. You may not go to the bathroom everyday (like you did before) or even every other day until your body gets use to eating this way. Make sure before you start using supplements that you really need to go and it's not just you "think" you should go. That was one thing that really got me in the beginning but now I just go when I need to and don't worry about it.

I find raw vegetables like celery and canned pumpkin keep me more regular than when I don't eat them - luckily I like both so I eat them quite often.

Flaxseed is what I use -- I make a cookie out of it and eat it during the afternoon with L O T S of water!!! LOL......you'll get the hang of it.

        Re: Plateau of Doom

Guys -- Thank you so much for your encouragement. I stuck to it and used my willpower for 3 weeks now. I broke past that barrier and as of today I have lost 11 pounds!!! (very gradual downward motion of .4 loss per day basically) It's a great number but I'm far from done!!! I'm ready to plow through this and head to the finish line!

For those in the future who may find this thread while looking up pause/plateau/etc... Just by switching from Diet Soda to Water/Seltzer and adding 15 carbs worth or vegetables or so daily; I was able to break past the pause and move ahead to lose an additional 3 pounds the week following. Not to mention I feel pretty good compared to the week before.

            Re: Plateau of Doom

Have you replaced your diet sodas with water intake instead? I suspect some of your fluctuations are water retention and also your body adjusting to all the changes. Be patient and hang in there.

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

I've replaced it with water and seltzer ONLY...so far it's doing a lot. However, I wish I would do more water and less seltzer during a typical day....I'm converting slowly though! =) Let just say I wont be joining a water competition anytime in the near future...I have work to do in that department! lol (sorta struggling to even hit the fl. ounce minimum per day)

On an unrelated note...work is starting to stress me out and I was asked to work this weekend and come into the office. Out of curiosity, does stress tend to cause a direct impact on weight gain? Or, is it just the emotional part of stress making people watch what the eat less? So far, it hasn't effected me much except that I have had less time to prepare and plan meals...so I've actually been eating less (which isnt something I want to do).

Thanks again for the advice and encouragement...this thread has like many many topics in one (I hope thats ok, if a mod would prefer them to not be bunched in one thread feel free to say so!!) Adios for now.

Thanks, I missed this post the other day and just read it now. For this past week or so, I've been going much more regularly. Not every single day, but maybe every other day and its not unusual when I am going...so I think it's all good. I haven't taken anything for it either.

I did want to mention here (yet ANOTHER topic in this thread lol....) that I experienced a VERY painful leg cramp/charlie horse in the middle of the night and it completely locked. I was sore for 4 days and limping for the first one. I read into it and realized it could be calcium, potassium, or magnesium. Since i'm getting potassium from meat, calcium from cheese...I figured it was magnesium. Long story short, I ended up just getting CVS brand of 1-a-day for men that has all 3 as well as vitamins. I figure it can't hurt me and will only help...right? Most people my age don't take this stuff (I'm 24), so I was a bit hesitant to buy suppliments. With that aside, i've also been eating more spinach as I realize it contains the aforementioned items.
