  • Sucralose

Hey guys! Brand new here but I have been living "low carb" for years now and have had success with Atkins (except during summers when I drink TOO MUCH BEER LOL)

I bought the book and have been sticking to the plan but haven't lost weight (It's been a week).

I believe the problem MAY be too much sucralose. I had two 2 liter bottles of Waist Watchers orange soda last week and several bottles of Powerade Zero - all made with sucralose.

I just realized yesterday this may be my error so I am cutting out the excess sucralose (I still take 2 packets with my decaf and heavy cream).

Anyone have any experiences with this issue? THANKS!

    Re: Sucralose

I like to do induction without any sweetener. I feel I get settled in better that way.
But yes I have seen people not lose weight on this board because their sweetener intake. Remember there is a limit of three per day. And some of us may not be able to do with even that much.

Good job cutting it out. Drink plenty of plain water and stick to the plan. It will happen

        Re: Sucralose

How much pure water are you drinking daily? Nothing added - water. You should be drinking a minimum of 64 ounces - if you aren't drinking water it could be a reason you aren't loosing.

I agree with Liv - get rid of everything that has sweetners in it during induction.

That looks really good I'm glad to see the weight has started coming off!

Just an FYI - olives are in the "special" category - they stall some people. If you stop losing again, you may want to try cutting them out too. Glad to see you are eating your veggies!

Great to hear. Yup some of us cannot deal with sweeteners well. And cutting them out is a good way to find out what is different.
                    Good work

Just a thought on the poweraide drink and others like it... ie the low carb vitamin waters... they look pretty good at just 2 or 4 grams... but be sure to check the servings per container. They often have 3 per bottle. Yikes!

I checked the ingredients and found this - if what you're drinking has HFCS you shouldn't be drinking this anyway. It's looks like too many things I don't put in my body.....pure water is much better - no added extras we don't need.
