I just finished watching "Supersize Me" and Im shocked! What an amazing documentary!

hey btw... is it possible (because we are eating all these meats and fats) for our cholesterol level to be high up? and our liver being destroyed by fat?

    Supersize Me

I absolutly loved this documentry. It was eye opening and part of the reason Ibegan Atkins. I used to eat a lot like Morgan and am just glad my eyes opened up.

My opinion about the fat and our livers is this...and this is just my opinion......the fat that is manufactured by fast food giants like McDonald's is COMPLETLY different than the fat you are going to find in natural hamburger. The hamburger you buy from McDonald's is composed of beef, fillers, and who knows what else. On Atkins we are consuming natural foods. And people ate the way we are eating now centuries ago (before refined carbs and sugary junk).

    Once again...just my honest opinion.

Oh yes my favorite subject and the reason I cook so much at home!

What you witnessed was a gentleman eating high fat/high carb

This is what caused a fatty liver. Your liver works as a filter as I'm sure you already know. Not only did this gentleman eat high fat/high carb....he also ingested a lot of transfats as well.

Recipe for disaster. Don't worry you'll be fine.....and if you're concerned about your liver and you are on owl, add some plain yogurt to your diet. 1/2 c a day will keep your liver healthy.
Make it a happy low carb life!

That is very reassuring. I, however, need to find a way to not have a cholesterol go up. There is a history of heart diseases in my family which is another reason I decided to make a change. any tips for lowering?

Have you actually had it tested? Mine and dh's have gone down since starting Atkins. I know some people's will go up, but most go down, so was wondering if you know what yours is and if you even need to worry about it.
