I know you must feel so much better that it must be hard to even describe.

I know what you mean about helping others and wanting to be an example. Although I am still far from my goal, I have been studying diet and foods and changing my ways of eating to a more whole-foods type diet for several years now, feeling much healthier but was still way too heavy (although I did lose and keep off 35-40ish pounds that way), which prompted me to start Atkins. I have several people in particular that I strongly feel could be tremendously helped by adopting this way of eating, but until I achieve a little more success (it just takes some time), I don't think I could make as good a case for it.

I really would like to help these particular people I have in mind to feel better, both physically and mentally. But I don't want to try to push them into it. I think it would be more convincing and inspiring to them as I continue to lose and get near my goal weight, and for them to see that and decide to try it for themselves.

So MOSTLY it is for my own health and well-being, but in part is also because I want to help a few friends and family members to achieve better health too. Having struggled with my weight for a couple of decades, I don't wish that struggle on anyone, and hope that I do inspire others in time to try what has worked for so many others and is working for me.
That is soooo true, I have lost a grown man!!!! BEAUTIFUL, I love the visual!

Yes I understand what you are saying, it is important that we don't push our way of eating and weight loss onto others. It's interesting though. I notice that since I started to turn my life around, those people around me who would see what I was doing or hear from others about what I was doing started to change their way of eating and exercised more...so my routines and what I did started to do rubbed off on them even though I never said anything to them about what they should do differently.

You know what? You've already started to inspire people and don't think you haven't! Anyone who changes their lifestyle and makes positive changes inspires the people around them even if the people around them don't make mention of it.....trust me, I've seen it!

Keep up the great job, you're doing awesome and I love your way of thinking.

I look forward to hearing your updates on how things are going for you so keep in touch when you're able....it's really good to meet you.

    All the best,
    Sarina

Well, I've now lost more than that 40# sack of birdseed! For another visualization, I've lost more than all these sticks of butter:

              Re: Motivational visualizations...

I was lifting two 5lb dumbells yesterday, and remarked to my husband after a few sets that they were getting heavy. He said, "yah, and to think, you were carrying that around on your body!!" I've just hit the 10 lb mark since being back on Atkins, and had never thought of it that way until that point. It was a nice "a-ha!" moment!
