Does anyone here have an anxiety or panic disorder and if so, has your condition improved/worsened since you've been on a low carb diet?

    Well Lisa
I had anxiety attacks. Mainly with people like my mother.....toxic but that's another thread :yikes

I also have suffered with ADHD.......

Not only has this wol helped with weight it has helped the above as well. I follow through, I don't get so freaked out when I have to face something, I'm calmer more level headed and less emotional.
Make it a happy low carb life!

I have an anxiety panic disorder. I don't believe it has changed since I started Atkins, but, my problems started when I was thin so my weight is not an issue.

i have an anxiety disorder, and it seems sometimes my attacks were triggered by blood sugar highs or lows. i think its improved since i've been on atkins as long as i make sure i eat enough and eat something every couple of hours and drink lots of water.

          Hi, Lisa!

Yes, I have anxiety issues, especially are TOM I get real bad, I even have Zanax for TOM - it helps. However, other times of the time I get all axious for no reason like when I'm filling up my water jug - when it starts to get to the top my heart starts racing - like I'm gonna miss it or something! Or when I know the buzzer on the dryer is going to go off soon I will get all axious until it actually does and I can empty the dryer and put the clothes away. Silly.

But here's what helped - I research (I LOVE THE INTERNET) and found that increasing your calcium will help and it has but it takes about 3 months. I upped to 1500 mg of a GOOD calcium CAPSULE (for easy absorbtion) from a health food store (get the clerks help), I take Solaray.

Another thing, I'm down to about 1/2 cup coffee a day - I found if I had tea or coffee it made it worse.
