  • Will You Still Accept Me...............

Hey gang. Hope everyone had a super, duper Labor Day!!! No more holidays until Halloween kicks off from the end of October until New Years Day in January..............

I am going to be embarking on a combined journey and basically wanted the blessings of you all here.

I am starting the Primal BluePrint plan and combining Atkins with it (for my own tweaked plan) and wanted to know if I am still welcome to post here with my fellow low carbers, or do I have to be doing Atkins to post on this site?

    Thanks in advance.

You're welcome to post here, but be aware this is an Atkins board, so if you choose to give advice to others, it has to be Atkins, not your tweaked Atkins or the Primal BluePrint Diet.

Also, you have to be aware that we really cannot give you any meaningful advice on the diet you are undertaking because our advice is Atkins and it might be hurtful to your diet.

There are not a lot of differences between Atkins and the Primal Blue Print.

      Main differences are:
** No dairy, beans, lentils or grains (giving up forever)
** Eat lots of veggies and fruits - maintain carb level between 0 and 50 for optimal weight loss and insulin stabilization

Atkins is a bit more structured as you add in carbs in a particular order.

They are not much different and mostly i have the Atkins state of mind, so I think that is where my heart is.

If Atkins is where your heart is why don't you ditch the primal diet and follow Atkins 100%?

Welcome! I hope you find the support you need. I don't know anything about that other diet but it does sound low carb. Why no legumes? What made you decide to do that? Are you having food allergies or something??? just curious. Good luck and I wish you great success!

Re: Will You Still Accept Me...............

Honestly, anybody can tweak the Atkins diet to mimic any of the myriad low carb diets found on the web and books. I use Atkins as a basis of diets called primitive out there. Eat green, leafy vegetables, some berries and get your fat and protein sources from animal based foods. The addition of fruits, gradually, might well be similar to the way early man had those foods introduced into their diets.

I don't know. I found what works for me and I stick with it.

EXACTLY. Everyone's different and we learn what makes our bodies and health thrive, and what's most practical for us.

This is a long term thing, not a quickie-lose-weight thing. We have to be true to ourselves.

Re: Will You Still Accept Me...............

your new diet sounds like atkins but someone who tried the rungs with dairy, beans, lentils , grains and it did not work out for them and there body so they just stuck to the other low carb foods

90-95% of the time i dont go past rung 2 as far as food gos but im still on atkins

but also i wonder about dairy sometimes and how healthy it is for me i also should test out oats i think they might be very different than other grains
