    Hiya Just a quickie...I am thinking of getting on a supplement, wanted to share the ingredients and you experts tell me yay or nay

    calcium carbonate
    magnesium oxide
    maltodextrin
    talc
    soy polysaccharide
    citric acid
    hypromellose
    cellulose
    zinc sulfate
    min oil
    titanium dioxide
    magnesium stearate
    polysorbate 80
    sodium lauryl sulfate
    carnuba wax
    crospovidone
    stearic acid
    gluten


    MY WORD ALL THAT?? I CAN'T EVEN PRONOUNCE HALF OF IT!!!!!

    I'd say "nay", because it contains maltodextrin (a sugar). Did your doctor recommend a Ca/Mg/Zn supplement? I'm asking because these should be relatively easy to get from the diet when we do Atkins, esp. once we are out of Induction (I'm not sure on which phase you are). They are also found in all multivitamin supplements I've seen...

    It also has soy polysaccharide. This is a dietary fiber, but I would avoid taking it during Induction.

    Gluten is a protein, but it can be tricky for some people. To play safe, I would avoid it until OWL Rung 9.

    ETA: Oh, and the other chemicals are used to deliver the minerals (Ca, Mg, Zn), or as fillers, or to slow down the absorption of chemicals in the body, or to make the pills glossy or as lubricants.
