Has anyone else here calculate there BMR and if so do you go by that. I did mine and man my BMR was around 2220 calories a day, that seems to be a bit much. I know I used the BMR in the past but don't remember the rule of thumb, do you eat that many to lose or to maintain or 200 less or more, im so confused. If anyone has some insight that would be awesome.

BMR is the amount of calories your body needs just to live. In other words, if you were in a coma or you are asleep, the BMR is the number of calories your body needs to sustain your heart beat, breathing rate, and all the other activities your body does while you are at rest.~Megs~

Also on Atkins, there is the metabolic advantage which allows you to eat a few hundred extra calories.
