  • weight loss stopped help please

    hi
    my weight loss seems to have stopped but im far from at my goal ,im now day 20 induction and have gone from 111.5kg to 105kg but this last week my weight has stayed the same ,this is what im eating do you think this is ok

    breakfast mlete made with cream and cheese with bit of mayonaise or 4 slices bacon and 2 poached eggs

    lunch: chicken salad maybe with 2 slice bacon

    dinner: chicken with veg ie brocolli or cauliflower with knob of butter

    if any snacks in between ,slice of meat or hardbolied egg or slice cheese

    First of all, it is fairly typical for people to experience a "stall" after induction.

    Secondly, it looks like you could use more carbs...namely salad. You should be having 2 cups of salad veggies and 1 cup of other veggies OR 3 cups of salad veggies during induction.

      When you say chicken salad, what does that mean? The leafy green lettuce does look like it's missing. There was a time when I got disgusted and couldn't ingest another salad. Guess what? I stopped losing. I reintroduced the salad and started losing again. However, if you're on day 20, a stall is totally normal. Your body is trying to figure out what you're doing to it! Do stick with it and the losses will come. It's referred to here as P.I.S.S. or Post Induction Stall Syndrome. Chinadoll has a wonderful post about that I believe, I just can't find it now.

        what i mean by salad is maybe 2 handfulls various lettuce a couple of tomatoes and a chicken breast , then in the evening meal ill have about 2 handfulls of veg is this ok or should i have more or less

          When you explain it that way you look like you are pretty close on your veges then. I think that PISS may be to blame here. But I have a few other questions...

          Have you changed you habits in regards to exercise (a new routine can mean that your body holds water weight, less exercise can mean less weight loss)?

          Have you changed your intake of water? Most people around here swear by drinking around 100 ounces a day.

          You haven't listed anything else you may be drinking...coffee, diet soda, artificially sweetened drinks...all can be problematic.

          Many of us have noticed periods of time where we do not lose an ounce for a week, or two, maybe more, then all of a sudden we lose 3-5 pounds. Keep on plan and your body will find its way to a slimmer you...just do not give up...keep moving and keep drinking water.

              my exercise has been upped slightly but not much im trying to up it a little each week mainly cardio

              monday : 2000 metre row ,3 to 4 mile ride also intervals ,1 mile run intervals
              tuesday: karate ( sparring stretching etc)
              wednesday : same as monday
              thursday : 20 min spin bike followed by 20minute cross trainer
              friday : karate
              saturday : weights session : barbell squats ,deadlifts,bench press, lat pull downs, flys and maybe a short run or walk at the end
              sunday :rest day
              i suppose i have slowed a bit with the water intake , i started drinking quite a bit at first
              and coffee ill have 1 first thing morning with sweetner and cream not milk maybe 1 in the day if i feel tired any other time i drink green tea or green tea with ginseng, ill keep it up im sure ill see a change soon

                the weight loss has restarted again yipeeeeeeeeeeeee , im not sure if it had anything to do with it but i upped my water intake again im now 103.2kg started at 111.5kg

                    Congrats Jake!

                    When you say "a couple of tomatoes" what do you mean by that? Cheery? Beefsteak? Heirloom? Tomatoes are allowed but they are precious on Induction - you get one cup, and that's basically one standard size tomato and it takes up all your "other vegetables" allowance for the day.

                    If you're eating that plus broccoli or caulifolwer, that's 2 serving off the "other" list and not one, so that may have caused your stall...

                      ok thanks ive been perhaps having 1 standard tomato or a few cherry ones plus handfull of salad greens for my lunch and 2 handfulls of veg in the evening meal ,perhaps ill just leave the tomatoes out then

                        That does not sound like too much veggies. I think with all the exercise you do you should not skimp on your veggies. It is good carbs. Eat at least 3 cups. And maybe move to rung 1 and add more. It may just be helpful
