Just wondering if anyone has taken Cinnamon supplements? I heard they are supposed to help with weight loss by lowering blood glucose levels. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing while doing Atkins though.

Re: Cinnamon Supplementation
Cinnamon supplements are especially helpful for folks with Type-2 Diabetes. Yes, it will help stablize glucose levels.
And yes, Atkins does that as well, over time. When I initially began Atkins, I had Type-2 Diabetes and I took Cinnamon along with Chromium Pic. My Type-2 Diabetes reversed within 47 days and has never returned. That was 5 years ago.
Cinnamon is a great tool to stablize glucose levels.

Re: Cinnamon Supplementation
I am so happy for you that you were able to reverse diabetes! That's fantastic! Thanks for your reply as well. I, thankfully, do not have diabetes but I think I'm going to go ahead and start taking the cinnamon supplements and see how well they work for me.

Re: Cinnamon Supplementation
Cinnamon is fabulous for weight loss and for blood sugar stabilization. I've been drinking my tea the whole time I've been on Atkins and it has cinnamon in it (green tea, ginger, hibiscus, and damiana too).
Its amazing how wonderful natural herbs can be in help with weight loss. I also tend to put cinnamon in my coffee as well. Highly recommend it!!Bellajgw aka Jacqui

Re: Cinnamon Supplementation
I took cinnamon suppliments for about a year. I noticed no difference. But then I'm not diabetic or anything but nothing "amazing" happened with my weight loss or appetite. I started putting real cinnamon in my protein shakes every morning. Again noticed no difference but I continue to do it because it's yummy and the real thing has got to be better then pills anyways. My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Re: Cinnamon Supplementation
I don't take supplements, but I have heard that cinnamon has a positive effect and tried it. I use a liberal amount in my breakfast pumpkin stuff.
I haven't noticed any additional weight loss, but even when I wasn't low carbing, I recognized that when I have a healthy dose of cinnamon I didn't have the sugar highs and lows.
I don't notice it as much while using extra cinnamon on Atkins. I suspect it's because the diet keeps blood sugar levels pretty steady without the supplement.
I read somewhere that it has quite a bit of carbs, and rather than research it like a good Atkins dieter -- I decided to ignore that rumor. (So far haven't noticed a slow in weight loss, ( cinnamonning for about 8 weeks now) but I'm a slow loser anyway!)SW204/CW196/GW 125
