  • Its Been A Long While Since I've Posted or Visited...

And I wouldn't say I'm back per se, but i'm still plugging away at this way of eating. I now understand why it is called that. I don't diet. I pretty much eat what I want, and I don't want sugary, high carbohydrate foods. Its my new normal. The old way of eating wasn't working for me but I've learned to forgive myself for my eating mistakes as they happen and continue on the next day. When I think this way it makes it easier to stay committed. I don't dread the holidays, I prepare for them, but if I end up straying on that day I'll jump back on the band wagon the following day.

I do need to amp up my exercise and I'm considering dusting off my tae-bo tapes again. When I was doing tae-bo three to four days a week I was losing inches faster especially around the waist. I was just telling my hasband today that i need to get back to doing those tapes and he asked me what was stopping me and I told him he was. He is always home and when I do them I like to be alone that way If I exert a little pressure and break a little wind there is no one around... LOL.

The other thing in my life is that I am a full time nursing student working toward my bachelors degree in nursing and my RN. I'm busy with that and I also work pt at a local truck stop. Life is busy and regardless I want to work out a little more than now which is non existant.

    Have a great day everyone!!!

That is what I so wish people would understand. That you don't have to be perfect, just persistent. Mess up? Move on and get back on plan! And that it will become more normal as time goes on. You won't want certain things like you do at first. I really enjoyed hearing how you were doing. Wow, you are gonna be in regular sizes soon and shopping anywhere! Well, almost anywhere, I always hated places like the 5,7,9 store. Still, its great to be able get cool stuff on sale. I got my trial pants and I'm no where near getting in them yet. But I tried them on today anyway to keep motivated. I can't give up the scale, but I always need goal pants too. Have a great weekend!

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.

    1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
    2nd mini goal: 140!
    3rd mini goal:135!
    4th mini goal: 130!

I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

      Welcome back Shari Dawn.
Wow it sounds like you are pretty busy. Congrats on starting your studies.
Maybe we could start a tae bo challenge thread or something. I need to get back to doing some of that too.
I really understand the not dieting thing. I am working my way there too. I agree. It is about life.

Great to have you back Shari Dawn!

Dusting off those Tae-Bo tapes sounds like a great idea....however, even if that doesn't happen right away, just simply head outside for a walk...walking is the best, easiest and flexable exercise anyone can do. Just get your body moving by walking even if it's for 10 to 20 minutes a day...or at least till you can start the Tae-Bo. Exercise has played a HUGE part in my weight loss success to date there's no doubt about that.

I look forward to hearing how things are coming along for you...congratulations on your studies!

        All the best,
        Sarina

I do a lot of walking now but I suppose I could amp that up a bit too. I have only one day a week off to relax the rest of the time I'm either working or at school. At school I end up carrying about 50 lbs of books up and down multiple flights of stairs. The school has a gym that I can join for about 7 dollars a month and i'd like to take advantage of that soon.

and I can fit into a size 14's but not too terribly well. I don't post that I've made that goal until I look good in them and they are comfortable. And I think to get into those pants I should get back on the tae bo tapes and maybe restart induction. I'm not sure though I've been pretty much stuck on one rung and not sure if I want to go back. We'll see. I guess I just need a bit of advice and guidance regarding this one. I'd really like to be comfortable in my size 14's by my birthday, OCT 11th.
