  • Ok that's it i quit!!

Hi all..... I find this diet very easy to stick to...in fact I don't crave..i'm not hungry...I never did eat that many carbs to start with...not keen on potato's, very little bread and occasional pasta. I know I'm consuming more food on the diet that before I started. I gained the weight after total hysterectomy.

I have lost 2lbs in three weeks! To me this is a complete waste of time. I don't mind being on a deit if it works...I only want to lose 14lbs!

So good luck to everyone else, looks like I'll have to try something else. Unless anyone can come up with something to help.

    Regards to all.

    Hi Jacqui,

Firstly I would say 2lbs per week is actually ok if you only have 14 lbs to lose. Frustrating, but it is a decent proportion. Don't compare yourselves to others with much more to lose.

Also have you posted a menu around here? If you tell us exactly what you're eating and how much it might be there is something amiss?

Best of luck with whatever you decide.

Re: Ok that's it i quit!!

      Hi Alexa,

Thanks for replying....but I meant 2lbs in TOTAL over three weeks......ok there is slow and there is REALLY SLOW...at this rate I'll be in reverse!

I don't mind staying on it...it's just that if I was losing it would be a bonus...and the idea was to lose?

      N.B. Breakfast : 1 Slice bacon...1 egg
Lunch: either Cheese with small salad or Chicken or similar.
Dinner: Pork Chop - Steak or chicken with veg or salad.

I use mayo, and I sometimes have scrambled eggs made with cream and butter. I drink no carb dilute juice, black de-caff coffee and water.

I tend to eat small meals...I always have as if I eat larger I feel very bloated and unhealthy. I tend not to snack..I don't really think about it and anyway I don't have time! I am very active in my day to day life and go belly dancing every week. So........any clues??

      Thanks once again.
      Regards,
      Jacqui.

Re: Ok that's it i quit!!

        ...not enough food.

Why not 2 eggs, 3 slices of bacon? Butter.
Why not small (small salad) and a chicken breast? (whole breast) Olive Oil
Why not generous helping of hard cheese, protein snack during the day?

Are you using fitday.com to assess your calorie, fat, protein, carbohydrate ratio and nutritional intake? For me it's been a major motivator and best daily resource (other than this board. Are you drinking sufficient water?

The one thing I definetly love about Atkins is it's totally scientific. If you're on plan, you will lose. Like Alexa said, you don't have much to lose (and everything to gain!!) I'm not nearly as educated as lots of folks on here but I do find my challenge often is just eating everything I have to every day- I don't have much of an appetite and sometimes want to procrastinate with my meals.

Good luck I hope you stick around!
        Pete

Yep I agree with Pete - not enough food.

Also I still think 2 lbs over 3 weeks is ok, given the fact your overall goal is just 1 stone less. It is slow, yes, but maybe you've not hard the calories and fat to boost that up. Also 2lbs is still 2lbs.

What is no-carb dilute juice? What are the ingredients? It sounds like a possible staller to me...

Lifestyle isn't exercise, either. It's lifestyle. You should be exercising at least 30 minutes 3-4 times a week.

In 3 weeks you've removed 21% of the weight you've set out to remove. That's hardly something to sneeze at. For someone with 50lbs to lose, they'd have had to drop 10.5lbs in the same period of time. Someone with 100lbs to lose would have had to drop 21lbs in three weeks to be losing at the same rate as you.

            It's all relative.

Ok Guys...I'm convinced... Thank you...I'll have to eat more....by the way the dilute jiuce is sugar free and has the nutritional values stated...i.e. protien, fat, sugars, carbs etc. No sugar or carbs at all.

I've also done what you suggested Pete and used fitday.com, very interesting results.

I'll stick with it and keep you informed.

              Thank you both!

Oh...by the way...my lifestyle...includes restoring a 400 year old farmhouse, bricklaying, digging, mixing cement etc, 3/4 days per week, my self employment is as a DJ singer every weekend and I am also carer for mother in law, I have two teenagers and another business to run. I do all the housework, shopping, cooking etc, I can only fit in 2 hours of belly dancing per week.......I think that lot might just cover the excercise needed. {I'd love to go to the gym...but I haven't got time}.

Anyone want to swap lives???? just for a week?? I need a rest!!

I'm glad to see you've decided to stick with it. I know it can be frustrating to not see that scale move, but I learned you can't look at it that way. I have so much weight to lose that when I don't see that scale jump I get a bit down. But then i think, I still feel better, I have lost some weight, and my clothes fit. It helps to look at the big picture. I've lost 80 lbs, but even if I had only lost 8lbs, it's still better than where I was at. I wish you all the luck in the world, and I know the weight loss will happen for you. Good Luck!

Sorry, but it is still lifestyle. Exercise is something you do above and beyond what your lifestyle requires. If it were enough, your rate of loss would be faster because you'd be going negative, right?

I work 70+ hours a week between 2 jobs - one of which has me on my feet lifting 20-30lbs for all night for 4-12 hours shifts ,have 4 kids - one with special needs, a household to run, and a business to run. My point is - We're all busy! - And yet we find time to swing through and read and post here, connect with family, chat on the phone, watch tv, etc. If it's important to you, you'll find time to make it happen.

Re: Ok that's it i quit!!

Just to put my two cents in...

I'm glad you are going to stick with it...it really is worth it.

In your status it says you are still on 14 day induction, why not move on up to OWL and give your body the bust it probably needs. With only 14lbs to loose in total it actually might help, plus you can start trying new foods.

And as others have said exercise is important but it does sound like you have a pretty hectic life, so why not take a walk at the end of the day to unwind. Walking is great exercise plus it is a good way to relax and clear your head.

                          Good luck!
