  • HELP! Weightloss is at a crawling 2.72 lbs/month! What's broken?

    Hi!

    I have been diligent tracking on fit day and am currently on Rung 3. I am eating between 30-35 net carbs. I realized today that my weight loss is crawling....at a mere 2.72 lbs/month.

    Also, my weight on the scale has been going up & down the same 1 lb for 2-3 weeks now. A friend thinks my metabolism is shot to **** and I need to go see a nutritionist.

    HELP!!!

    My sample menu goes something like this:

    Coffee + 2 tbs cream
    2-3 eggs
    2-3 cups lettuce
    1/2 tomato
    0.5 oz red onion
    1 slice bacon - sometimes
    1/2 cup cucumber
    1/2 cup chopped roast chicken
    Litehouse salad dressing - 2 carbs/2tbs
    Afternnoon tea w/ 2 tbs cream
    1/2 cup cottage cheese snack
    1 cup steamed broccoli
    roast lamb
    2-3 oz cheese

    Water - 64 oz
    sugar free metamucil
    1 multi vitamin
    Starting weight: 275 lbs
    11/03/09: 214.8
    Minigoal 1 : 220 lbs - Met 08/25/09
    Minigoal 2: 215 lbs - Met 10/10/09
    Minigoal 3: 210 lbs
    Minigoal 4: 205 lbs
    Minigoal 5: 200 lbs
    Final goal: 135 lbs

    Just hang in there... the items themselves look good! However, I don't see FAT!!! I see "roast" also the cottage cheese is it full fat? How are you cooking veggies, with butter, oil, ect? Litehouse salad dressing.. is that full fat or "lite" fat? That would be the only thing I see off hand some others who have more experience will hopefully be able to give more advise.

      Your weight loss might slow down as you are getting closer to your CCLL. Perfectly normal.

        Claw back the carbs, add in the fats and see if it helps. You might be eating something that stalls your weight loss. Cream cheese will stop me cold. So up the fats and cut the carbs back a wee bit for a week and see what happens.

          I agree with Georgiana and Timlin....you are probably reaching the CCLL and if you want faster weight loss you may want to reduce the amount of carbs you are eating. Try to get more fat into your diet somehow.

            You won't loose large amount each week your on the diet forever....like Georgiana said, you are probably getting close to your CCLL -- once you know what it is you'll be able to stay under it. You're doing fine, stop worrying.

              HI! Thanks for your responses!

              I am confused about .......

              - If I reach my CCCL level - say at 35 & I am still at Rung 3, then how am I going to go up on the rungs with the other foods?

              - Also, if my weight loss is so slow and I still have a lot of weight to lose - 80 lbs in my case what do I do? Do I just accept that it is going to be another 3 years before I get to where I want to be?

              Have any of you been in my shoes before wrt to this long journey and slow loss?

                I have been on the diet in just about two years and I kind of may be at goal now. But it has been slow. And that is not a problem. Not gaining weight is just a great time soI do not mind counting carbs on a regular basis. And personally I think the OWL part of the diet is easier than the maintenance part so I am in a hurry to declare goal.

                So when you found your CCLL and you have not added all foods you start to rotate them. So if you want to try berries next you have make sure that you leave out the 5 carbs of dairy or nuts and just do berries. This is what I do all the time.
                I aim to eat my veggie carbs and then just a few items from higher rungs to make up the daily carb limit.

                So you do not think nuts is a problem food - you are good at controlling them?

                  How many calories are you having each day?... cream has a lot of calories...
