I've been doing good - not craving sugar or anything. Then I make the mistake of reading a post in the Induction forum where a bunch of people are listing sweet foods that are my addiction. Now I'm feeling so out of control mentally. Like I could just fail at any minute. Other diet forums I've seen people do a warning first. Is there any rules that apply to this within these forums? Thanks.

Re: ARGH - Should there be something that says "FOOD MENTIONED" in the subject?
I understand where you are coming from...on the other hand part of doing Atkins is coming to terms with our addicitons, learning ways to stop ourselves in our tracks. What do you do when you go to a grocery store that has a bakery...you can still smell it no matter where you go in the store, so you have to learn how to not let it be the ball and chain that drags you off the deep end.Carrie

I do agree with you Carrie but I feel the point is well taken. Shouldn't we here be supporting each other and not setting traps for each other. I have been derailed by unexpectedly reading a post that was dripping with foods your denied on your diet. It just seems wrong to me too.
If I go into a super market I expect to run into temptations but when it comes out of the blue with no warning I don't have my defenses in place and that can mean days of struggle to keep control and put it behind me.
I think a polite mention that your post is loaded would be polite and respectful to others who are struggling.

For what it is worth, I agree. It is enough for someone to say I ate a sugar sweet or a floury product rather than give an in depth description of the food. Everyone's triggers are different and we should be supporting each other and non painting a picture of something that is another person's poison.
On the other hand, tonight I made a broccoli and pepper stir fry and it was yummy and looked like a photograph in a cooking magazine!! LOL!

I think this comes under the heading of Taking responsibility for yourself. You can't go through life and not being unexpectedly bombarded with temptation. I walked in to a friends house yesterday and she was baking cookies. She even knew I was coming. It is not her fault if I come away from her house and have cravings. I don't know if that's the same thing or not but I always feel that the only thing I can control is my space. My doctor told me to stop having intimate dinners for four. Unless there are three other people.

Everytime I am tempted to use food to satisfy my frustrated desires, build up my injured ego, or dull my senses, I will remember,
That even though I overeat in private, my excess poundage is there for all the world to see.

Re: ARGH - Should there be something that says "FOOD MENTIONED" in the subject?
Okay, I just cooked some stuff you really wouldn't want me to mention! I have kids and I let them have foods I can't have. I even cook it for them. My sister is good about eating things I can't infront of me all the time. I get derailed more than most people. Yes, it takes me longer to get the weight off. Somethings I just don't buy, doesn't mean someone else won't bring it into the house. But overall, over time I have gotten much better at saying no. And its because it doesn't appeal to me as much as it did. There are eating disorder boards that are much more about respecting everyones triggers. You can't mention a food, you can't mention a weight, you can't mention a size, it goes on and on. And you can talk all about your emotions and feelings. In case you were wondering what was left. I have food issues, not a lot of emotional issues so this is the board for me. I did have to choose which type of board and approach I wanted to take. I decided that I wanted to be a person who didn't have to be handled with care. I wanted things as normal as I could get them. I don't want to see MAY TRIGGER on everyother post here, been there, done that elsewhere.

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.
1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
2nd mini goal: 140!
3rd mini goal:135!
4th mini goal: 130!
I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.
