  • S.Pellegrino Question

I have a question about this water. Let me first say, this would be consumed as a "treat", not as part of my daily mininum water. Is there anything listed in the analysis that Is not allowed?

I don't have an answer for you but just wanted to say that this is my absolute favorite bottled H20 of all times. I only have it once in awhile. I think I'll get some tomorrow!

Hey Glenda, They have a coupon on their website.

Since I have given up my cocktail hour , I was thinking of an occasional S. Pellegrino instead as a treat!

Sparkling water is allowed during all phases of Atkins. Pellegrino has no sugar/sweetener or some other crappy stuff added, so the carbs in it are zero.

I often order sparkling water when out for a meal as it feels like a celebration drink to me. Served with ice and a slice of lemon I don't feel 'left out' when others are drinking their wine.

Pellegrino is great stuff! It seems to have replaced Perrier at most restaurants around here. I ask for mine in a wine glass with ice...seems even more special that way.

BTW, mineral water is part of your daily H20.

                Hey Everyone,
Thanks for all your comments. I thought we could not count it as part of our daily water due to the sodium added to it. So this is great news!
                Have a great weekend!

                  Re: S.Pellegrino Question

I ordered Pellegrino in May when we went out for dinner.....I loved it...but....it didn't love me! I experienced a 7 lbs water retention gain over night from drinking it. I could feel my fingers swelling while I was drinking it.

It's great stuff but if people are sensitive to sodium be careful with it.

                    Hey Sarina,

                    How have you been?

Besides the other 1000 things I admire you for, it is how despite all the temporary roadblocks along the way, you still come up smiling!

After knowing some of the things you have gone through, it really made me feel badly me that you could not enjoy a simple bottle of S. Pellegrino!!!

It is such a simple thing, yet to many of us, such a nice treat, (especially for those that are currently giving up that glass of wine or martini). Sorry you are so sensitive to so many things. But your courage to continue is so brave and what continues to motivate so very many of us!

Will send you an update soon!

                      Hi Mary!

Ahhhhhhh thanks so much, it is very frustrating...I made something yesterday too that shot me up 3 lbs and I can feel it effecting me....it was so yummy....I had mixed a hot sauce with whole ground mustard, vinegar and some stevia, garlic and onion powder etc...sort of made a sweet and sour paste for a stew....anyway I woke up this morning and I went from 174 to 177.....the culprit is the vinegar. I have quite an allergy to it and retain water from vinegar. I just wanted something a weeeee bit different for a change and I'm paying for it today!

Oh well, at least I know what the cause is from. I'm leaving my stat at 174 lbs because this is just a bit of water weight....I know this Allllll to well from experience!

Well, you'll just have to enjoy an extra tall icy glass of Pellegrino for me girl!

Thank you for the message and I do look forward to hearing from you again! Be sure to let me know how things are going for you when you have the time.

                      Hugs,
                      Sarina
