Ok, I have been doing this since March 17. This is my second time around (first time was 5 years ago and lost 70 lbs). I use fitday and know what I am doing by now. I am gaining weight all of a sudden. One pound last week and already two since Friday. WHAT?? I don't understand. I eat my cottage cheese and strawberries for bfast everyday like normal, have cheese or nuts for snacks, eat salad and meat for lunch, have veggies and meat for supper. I haven't changed anything. I am at 40 carbs (my point) and don't budge from that. Should I drop back to induction for a week or so to shock my system? Thanks for any advice

Re: gaining weight after this amount of time?
I just did that and it worked because it turned out to be waterweight. Sometimes that happens, you add some muscle, or add some water. Its still not fun at all when it does happen.

My starting weight was 235 lbs and I'm trying to get to 130 lbs.
1st mini goal: 145! met 12/09
2nd mini goal: 140!
3rd mini goal:135!
4th mini goal: 130!
I drink coffee. I drink when I am thirsty. I am just a low carber. Not on Atkins at all!!! He has everything to do with my weightloss and nothing to do with it, depending on who you ask.

Re: gaining weight after this amount of time?
As you added foods a rung at a time, did you notice any foods that stalled you? There are some foods I stay away from because for whatever reason, they cause me to gain weight, regardless of the number of carbs. Just my experience.
When you are alone in your head, you are in a bad neighborhood.

What is the last step you did before starting to gain weight: add back a food or increase your carbs?Originally posted by Fat Cat Mama View PostOk, I have been doing this since March 17. Re: gaining weight after this amount of time?
I have been at the same place food and carb wise for a few weeks. I stopped eating blueberries (they are out of season). Otherwise, all of that has been the exact same.Denise

Re: gaining weight after this amount of time?
I would try omitting the cottage cheese for a week, before dropping back to Induction. I'm not saying that cottage cheese is definitely the culprit, but I do know that it became an issue for me, so I would try that first before doing something as drastic as Induction.Originally posted by Fat Cat Mama View PostShould I drop back to induction for a week or so to shock my system?
Yeah... after a month of eating cottage cheese, the darned stuff "turned" on me. Became a no-no. To this day, I still can't eat it everyday... only on a rare occasion as a treat.

Re: gaining weight after this amount of time?
I agree with the others, before dropping back to induction, try experimenting with the foods you last added or drop back 5g carbs/day.
Is your exercise at the same level as before? And your water consumption? Before and after:
