I happen to think pigs are very cute.

Well, you know what you have to do...you have to stop going off your plan. It really is that simple. Only you can make the choice: biscuits or being thin.

i find after that main meal or breakfast thats when it hits me, im in a house were peole are eating sweets biscuits etc and i live in ireland and half the stuff mentioned here is not over here aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
There are quite a few people here from England and Ireland. Perhaps if you put in your location (Ireland) so it shows in your post headings (click on UserCP, Edit Your Details), it would be easier for them to spot you and offer local food suggestions. As far as the food in Ireland, I do know that they have meat, poultry, fish, eggs, cream, butter and vegetables. That is what you need to do Induction. Some State-side foods such as pork rinds or Atkins bars are not things people should be eating anyways.

Maybe review the Induction food list and plan your next meal from that. And the next one and the next one and the next one... After 14 days then maybe check out the OWL forum.

      Faolteam,

I dont have any of the stuff here in China either. You dont need the extras. You need eggs, cheese, veggies, meats, cream, and the other things that I know you can get in Ireland.

You aren't the first to go off plan. But now you know something about yourself. You know that a small cheat leads to bigger ones and then a total derailment. Learning to get back on track immediately is a skill and it takes conscious effort.

Of course you know what to do! Make your mind up to start over and do it right this time. Make this a life choice. Do it cleanly and stop looking at yourself as deprived because you can't have the other things. Consider yourself privileged because you are worth eating healthier than that.

And when you fall next time, and you will, get up tell yourself what a fool you were and get back on track at the very next meal. One day at a time. One day at a time. Keep plugging away at it.

Glad to hear you're back on plan. Well done!
Perhaps you'd benefit from moving to OWL as soon as possible. You'd have extra food choices and be able to make yourself snacks that you like and are allowed.
Don't be afraid of OWL.... you really do still lose weight. Some lose even faster on the first rungs!

            Re: I Totally Screwed up

I missed the mindless munching a lot at first too...that is a habit I had for 30 years...I had to conciously fight it for a long time. After 5+ months of eating only when hungry, and then eating healthy foods rather than chips (crisps), etc I am finding that I am slowly breaking the habit. I rarely snack, and when I do it is just to make the hunger go away...not for the enjoyment of eating snack foods.

At first, I would often have a nicely flavoured herbal tea in the evening (when I would want to snack). I simply no longer feel the need. I suspect that if you stick with it, you will lose the habit of snacking/eating sweets after meals.

PS - I don't use very many of those "products"...I think sugar-free BBQ sauce is the only "specialty" item I use (and I have to travel to the States to get it (or order online)).

Also - I miss chewing gum too. I don't miss the 67lbs I've lost though! Good trade

Are you really hungry between meals? If so, maybe review your meals and see if you are eating enough (fat, protein, veg each meal)? Once ketosis kicks in, you really shouldn't be hungry between meals.

As far as stopping for a bite to eat when out, I miss that too. When doing my errands I used to love to stop and have a coffee or tea and a little something. I miss that. Yes, I can get a cup of decaf but there doesn't seem to be a little low carb goodie to go along with it. I suppose I could bring something with me but...well, that just doesn't seem like as much fun.

So now I go without that little ritual. Still miss it but realize that all those times in the past that I did it, I was eating stuff that I really did not need...no wonder I got fat.

                  Re: I Totally Screwed up

A cup is eight fluid ounces. A teacup is closer to five or six ounces if filled to a "normal" level. Nuts are rung three, so no not yet. Cream, small amounts for tea or coffee should be OK, unless you are drinking one cup after another all day long. Do you have the book?

It is really important to be kind to yourself. The thoughts and words that you use to describe yourself have tremendous power to set your reality.
We have all been where you are. You are in the right place for support.

When I get a craving for sweets, I just delay eating them. I'm pretty sure that they will still be making them after I reach my goal weight but by then, I likely won't be wanting them as much.

                        I wish you well.

This board's advice is all based on Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution book 2002 edition. It explains each level in detail and why this Way of Eating works as it does. It's also a great reference and motivator. I am sure used copies are probably available through Amazon or in used book shops, although in Ireland it may be tougher to find without ordering online.
