I need good. I had no potatoes, no gravy measure out the green beans and califlower. I had salad with my own dressing and water with dinner. I stuck to my plan and I am happy. I was the one that made the mashed potatoes and never even tried a little taste. I am so proud of myself and found it really easy to stick to the plain.

I am doing this and no turkey will stop me...Happy thanksgiving, I hope others had the same luck.
    What????????

You mean your brother didn't throw you out of the house because you didn't eat the potatoes?

No one started crying that you ruined their lives because you didn't eat the gravy they made "just for you"?

They didn't call the police because you didn't eat the pumpkin pie?

I'm shocked. Absolutely shocked at the state of our society! They should have tied you to a chair, forced open your mouth and shoved all those foods into it. With all the stories we read here on ADBB about being "forced" to eat a birthday cake or being "made" to eat macaroni and cheese, I expected much, much more from your family. How dare they not force you to eat off plan. What kind of people are they? lol.......

      Re: Thanksgiving plans??

Congrats fluffy on a good day.

I had thanksgiving dinner yesterday and it went well too. I did the cooking which makes it easy of course. I made cauliflower mash, gravy with guar gum and I had a bit of stuffing (a tad) and yam for my upper level carbs. I also made green beans so plenty of stuff for me to eat. I love to eat the crispy turky skin with my turkey meat. So it was a good day.
I also decided to make bone broth from the turkey carcass. So no I have some healthy stuff for a bit of soup or something later in the week.

        Re: Thanksgiving plans??

I am back from an exhausting weekend at the cabin, lol. Exhausting because of the work we did. My husband was out in the lake helping my Uncle bring in the docks and the marine railroad, and we hung a pontoon boat in the boat house about 15 feet up with no prior pullee's or anything. We had to pile the docks one on top of the other about 100 yards from the beach, thankfully they have a tractor to pull it all there. We used to CARRY it, lol.

Saturday night we had burgers and salad, so I just skipped the bread and ate the burgers with some tomatoes, and divied out some salad to myself before the dressing went on (a balsamic vinegar and raspberry jam mixture). It was great, and I was full. Sunday night we had Thanksgiving, I had lots of Turkey, green beans, and brocolli - and had a couple slices of cheese when I was finished because I felt like eating some cheese. When everybody else was gorging on crackers and cheese before the meal, I had 1/3 cup of pistachio nuts. Turkey is YUMMY. We had leftovers for lunch today - and even though the Turkey/Stuffing/Cranberry Sauce sandwiches I was making for everybody else looked good, I just cut up some veggies and lettuce and diced up some leftover Turkey for a great salad.

I made the Pumpkin Pies on Friday night and brought them up for our meal last night. I bake them special - I use gluten free corn flakes so my Dad can partake in it. I had to go to a different store because my local Walmart didn't have pure pumpkin, they only had pumpkin pie filling. Sheesh. All full of preservatives - I NEVER buy the filling.

Anyway - glad ya'll had a good Turkey meal. I'm waiting for my husband to cook my supper right now.
