But to clarify this, ketosis testing strips are not reliable. They are not telling you if you are following Atkins correctly. Your weight loss depends on following the plan as written, not on turning the sticks a certain color. You can turn the sticks any shade of purple or whatever other color while gaining weight. Similarly, you can lose fat and inches without ever changing the color on the sticks. There are many things that can influence the color, such as your hydration level, the kind of fats you ate, the exercise you did, etc.

So why does it matter if your in keto or not? And I'm not using them to see if I'm losing weight, I'm just using them to make sure I'm still in keto, but apparently it doesn't matter? I don't know! I just got the book a few minutes ago. The one I have is 'Atkins For Life' by Robert C. Atkins MD.

      >>lemon pepper chicken (0 carbs)>>

      Did you make this yourself?

Lemon has carbs as does pepper.

Many things that say "0" carbs aren't.

If your sister is doing Atkins, she shouldn't be giving you her book ... she needs it!

If you're doing Atkins, then you need your own copy!

Good luck!! You do need to exercise. You're not going to lose weight if you don't exercise.

You might want to think about stevia for a sweetener. I SweetLeaf brand--it's the only brand or sweetener on the market with 0 calories, 0 carbs, and a 0 glycemic index!

I never said it does not matter if you are in ketosis. What doesn't matter is the color on the sticks.

For weight loss, the book you need is "Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution" (2002).

Ketosis is just another word for lipolysis ... which means "fat burning".

In other words, when you're "in ketosis", you're burning fat for fuel, not "sugar".

Check the ingredients of the lemon pepper (starch/sugar/maltidextrin), everthing seems to have starch and sugar in it. I started reading seasonings like the garlic with parsley salt Lary's...starch/sugar, then everthing I read had starch/sugar/maltidextrin.

Stop the Diet soda and see the difference, it really very effective in stalling your weight loss. Especially at each meal you are telling your body to produced insuline, (if you are one of the unlucky ones that react to the splenda).
