  • Really want to cheat right now

    I just started Sunday and Monday night I had a virus with vomiting. As the day wore on Monday, I thought it was my mind playing tricks on me trying to get me to eat carbs. I got home from work that night and started throwing up around 11 p.m. So, of course, the next day I couldn't eat much and had miso soup, it was the only thing I could keep down. Today, I am so hungry I feel like I could eat a horse and now I am stuck at work with no food other than the vending machine crap. I am trying my best to hang on.

    The fact that I am on here and reading posts is only thing keeping me from eating bad stuff. My husband is very supportive and he is going to bring me some meat and salad w/ bleu cheese dressing when he gets off work so I have to hang on for another 1.5 hours!

    I hated I ever fell off the wagon. Not only did I gain weight but my hunger has been insane. I remember the good ole days when I was on the diet and couldn't MAKE myself eat enough.

    I don't really have much of a point other than just needing some support right now.

        Thanks for your reply! I am drinking. I got some of the plain water with electrolytes in it since I had been so sick. I drank all of it but luckily we have really good water here at work so I can drink as much as I want.

        I had a little thing in my mind that said "go get you a diet coke, you will feel better..." but I keep telling myself to keep on reading and that is what I am doing. My husband should be off in less than an hour. Hope he gets here quickly!

            Thanks Liv! I just called my husband's work and orders more food. It is all on plan. He make is a point because he knows how much trouble I have had getting back on, and if I have too much, I just will take it home. But I am stuck here until after 8 p.m. and I would rather have too much good food on hand than have this feeling again.

              Mercy it can be so hard to get back on the WOE when we fall off, but together we can do what we could never do alone. Hang in there, sis! It always helps me to remind myself of the benefits in addition to weight loss... improved heart health, less joint pain, almost no reflux issues, sleep patterns improve, skin and hair and nails improve, clothes fit so much better, improved self esteem... yeah it's worth it.

                do you have a locker at work?

                I would go to the store and grab a few bags of safe food and keep it at work in a case like this. During work I'd eat every 3 hours on the dot. Your locker should be very well stocked.

                  ...and no diarrhea. When I am not on Atkins I am plagued with irritable bowel syndrome. Thanks so much for your encouraging words!

                  We have it nice at work, we have a fridge and, unlike my other jobs, no one steals your food. I just had absolutely no idea I was be like this. I won't be unprepared again.

                  Thanks so much for your support! I am having chicken and salad with bleu cheese right now! I made it!

                  They put A BUNCH of croutons on my salad. When I come across something like that, I throw it in the trash (or out the window) immediately so I won't be tempted.

                    Glad to hear you made it!
                    I found some cheese that is individually wrapped & keeps for months...I keep some of that in the fridge at work. I've been doing that since induction & it has saved me a bunch of times. I now (since Rung 3) keep almonds in my desk. I portion them out into 1oz servings in those small "snack size" ziplock bags.
