  • I am back. Darn it.

Well...I had a great summer. We took a cruise in June...lots of food and yummy tropical drink. Then took the kids to various fairs, carnivals, amusement and water parks. Lots of fried oreos, pizza etc. I quite enjoyed the whole experience but here I am again, at square one. All my hard work was undone by a summer of fun. I now have a closet full of clothes I can't wear and I am going out of my way to avoid people because I have gained weight and hate for anyone to see me this way. YUK! So I have been in induction for three days now. I am in ketosis, and I hope to be a bit more self disciplined this time around. Anyone else have an inspiring comeback story to share? I could use some encouragement.

Well, not inspiring but I can tell you I am in the same boat! It took four months to lose 17 pounds and 2 months to put 9 back on. Also summer fun. I have been back on plan for three weeks and have 3 pounds to show for it so far. So it isn't any miracle success story but it has taught me that I can't stray and I can't ignore the need to exercise regularly.

Fried Oreos, huh? I saw them all over this summer at the shore but (thankfully) they never tempted me at all. Now a good pizza or ice cream--those were tough to walk by.

At least you are now back on track and the scale will be moving the right direction.
    JILL

    HW 298
    HW (this time) 248
    GOAL ONE 228
    (take 2)
    GOAL TWO 213 (personal goal)
    GOAL THREE 199 ONE-DERLAND
    FINAL GOAL 165

It's not about the results. Its about the process.

On your new road to a healthy way of life you took a detour, got lost, your husband would not get directions, the kids started to get hungry and for the whole summer you were just in a limbo sort of way trying to find your way back, which you did and now you will continue your journey in the straight and narrow road.
      highest 230 ---- started atkins------current 175 lbs
      July 2009 ---------12/20/2009 ---------03/18/2010
      <------------------>

I started atkins in late november but every other week just sort of fell off the wagon and was not working out..late december I started to really follow it and added the gym from november to december I only lost like 7 lbs not following it right..from december to march 18 I lost 50 lbs give or take depending what mood my scale is on lol.

        Great analogy, summer dress girl!

Glad to hear you are making progress, already, Chinadoll. Thanks for the encouragement. I guess the holidays are our first hurdle. If I can handle Christmas, I ought to be able to manage summer next year!
