  • Christmas candies and sweets

Each year, I make tons of candies and sweet breads for neighbors and friends. The kids get involved and it's a blast. This year, my youngest is following Atkins with me and I don't want him to feel deprived. He should be up to rung 4 by that time. What are some good recipes for him?

You'll have to do do some searches. You will find low carb treats made with coconut flour, almond flour and peanut butter. I added the macaroon recipe I used last year to the recipe forum

In the dessert forum you will see other suggestions as well.

      How old is your youngest?

Children under the age of 18 shouldn't be doing the weight loss phases of Atkins without a doctor's supervision.

How old is he? Does her like nuts? Hot? Sweet? Spicy? What are his favorite flavors?

There is a book geared to kids..Feed Your Kids Right by Fred Pescatore. He was an associates of Dr. Atkins and this is kind of like the kids version (as I understand it). I got the book for my son but he is such a picky eater we haven't really attempted it yet.

That said, I was thinking of doing chocolate covered almonds/pecans. Using unsweetened chocolate and splenda. Not sure exactly how I will make it. You can also do chocolate covered strawberries. I guess it is time to start thinking about these things.
