  • Back again!

Well I am sure someone noticed that I have been M.I.A for awhile now and I am sure everyone knows why...thats right I gave into those nasty cravings and let it do in all of my progress! I am so frustrated! I thought I had things under control but now I have gained back all but 5 pounds of what I lost! I know I deserve it for giving up...so I am starting anew today! Hopefully this will be the last time I have to make this "confession" lol! One thing that is worrying me...last time I was on atkins I was losing weight and feeling great...then all of a sudden I started to get so sick ... I couldnt eat anything and the thought of meat turned my stomach... I literally got sick when I ate meat.... I dont want this to happen again...help? When I got sick is the time I quit!

Were you making all your meats rather plain? Lots of times its better if you do things like chilis, stews, meat and veggie dishes so it camouflages the protein.

You should not feel sick from Atkins... so, maybe the cause of your problems was not Atkins? It could have been just a coincidence that you were sick and following Atkins at the same time. You say, "all of a sudden I started to get so sick". Did this start on day 3, on day 7...? What were you eating before you gave up? How many veggies? How much fat? How many calories? Were you on Induction or on OWL?

it was after my 14 days of induction and I was starting to go on extended induction... I actually boought some all beef hotdogs because I heard that they were ok with atkins and contained no fillers...well let me tell you they did not stay down... anyways after that the thought of eating any meat just upset my stomach... I don't know maybe I just had some bad hotdogs that turned me off to meat all together... anyways I think the idea of masking the protein is a good one b/c I was eating really plain...
          I hate cooking! LOL

Try making your own dishes if possible, that way you can cook everything the way you like it. Maybe you got food poisoned, because i had a similar experience with fried oysters. Got really sick and i couldn't even look at oysters for a while, let alone smell them. Still not sure if it was undercooked or if i just had too much oily foods at that particular time, but it felt like a nasty stomach flu that lasted around 4-5 days.

Unless you're a vegan, there must be some kind of meaty dish that could appeal to you. Treat yourself to something nice.
