  • my outback restaurant exp

    ok so i ended up having their 20oz melborne steak which was a tbone!
    My daughter ate maybe a 4th of it but I finished it off.
    I had a house salad with no onions and dressing on the side - i brough my own no sugar 1 carb ceasar dressing. The salad did have a couple of cherry tomatoes, some cucumbers and cheese.

    They had warm bread tempting me which was hard and my kids ate a ton of it! but I resisted

    and this morning it didn't hinder my weight loss at all. I was so happy!

    but i ahve to say that place is way pricey and the portions are not that big for the price. My steak came with 2 sides but my salad was an extra 2.95 and that was considered one of my sides?!!!

    anyways looks like their steaks there are good to go!

    Sounds like you did fine. I tend to order a ribeye with both included sides as the fresh seasonal veggies. I eat half and bring the other half home for dinner the next night. That works well for me.

    Most of the time their seasonal veggies consist of broccoli and yellow/green squash. Once in awhile I have to push a few pieces of carrot aside, but most of the time there are no carrots.

    Sometimes I also order a side of mushrooms.

      Just be careful of any seasoning on their vegetables ... the seasoning contains brown sugar.

        Thanks for sharing your experience. So glad that you enjoyed yourself. Sounds like your family had a good time. I personally thing, though I admit it can be hard, that we need to at some time go to restaurants and do all the 'normal' things. It is part of learning how to low carb at life. So even though we are facing temptations and possible traps here and there we learn valuable lessons doing that.
        And really good when we share this experience. This well help the next person who is ready to try?

          I like their tiger dill sauce... and make it here at home with 1 part horseradish and 1 part sour cream, dill weed to taste and serve it with beef. mmmmmmmmmmmm

              i looked on their site and loved how they give all of the nutritional information for things, some of what I would have normally ordered blew me away with the amount of carbs it had in it. Steak and shrimp, always sounds delish to me mmmm now I want to go lol
