  • Joy at Marie Callender's

    Hi all,

Just thought I'd share. We're not usually a family that frequents chain restaurants--not to be snobby--but we normally go to little mom-and-pop or ethnic restaurants in L.A.

That said, I had to meet a friend close to her work and she wanted pie to bring home. So we went to MC's.

I ordered the turkey club on a croissant.

Toasted croissant on the side to go (for Mom)
4 slices of real roasted turkey breast
4 slices thick, crisp, not greasy bacon (2 were extra)
    1/2 perfectly ripe, sliced avocado
    2 slices tomatoes
substituted 1 1/2 cups brocolli for the coleslaw/fries
    Melted butter
2 big glasses iced decaf coffee with 2 half 'n half
    20 oz. water.

And I'm down another pound today!

Their cobb salad is really good too! That's what she had, and everything on it was safe.

    Enjoy!

We had an MC here, but it closed. I never figured out why--it was right next to a large hospital, and every time we went it was full of doctors and patients' families.
Your post made me hungry. I have to stay after school and do some tutoring today, and now I have bacon and avocado on my mind...

      Meow,

I'm telling ya, if I had the time tonight, I'd stop at it AGAIN and have the exact same thing! Just like the best ever club sandwich with handcarved turkey. Didn't even MISS the bread!
