    BINGO! You're exactly correct. It's just a tool to help us ~ you can use it in which ever fashion serves you best.

        Are you planning yummy meals, Ron? I know what you mean about wanting what you can't have. Heck, I think about off-plan foods more than most people I'm sure. But it does really help to make sure I have a "favorite" Atkins-friendly dish every day! Last night we had bbq pork. I just had again for lunch. MY FAVORITE! I used to smother it with bbq sauce before starting Atkins, but now I can't imagine ever going back to using sauce. It is delicious all by itself!

        Good for you for staying strong last night! I feel excited on weigh-in days because I want to change my stats. Sometimes it's hard to get to sleep the night before I do an official weigh-in, especially if I know I lost big. This week, on the other hand, I'm skipping weigh-in because I messed up a few days ago and can't bear to face the damage.

        Thanks for the awesome chart. It's my screen-saver now...

          How are you guys doing?? I made it through a tough night and am geared up for a good day. Hope all is well. I can't figure out how to attach my visual--but I have 7 bricks colored on top and 2 days colored as well!

            my chart is at work, so can't update, but had 3 good meals yesterday:
            breakfast - hb egg w/mayo and celery
            lunch - fresh veggies, 3 chicken drumsticks w/ranch
            dinner - steak w/mushrooms/onions, mixed veggies

            I copied my exel worksheet to paintbrush, then loaded as an image - not sure how Ron did it ??

              Yesterday, was down to my low - 228, but didn't eat well. My daughter had surgery, and just didn't make the right choices - not horrible...life goes on - today is a new day [I'll pay for the slip] but currently down 4 lbs since 11/2!

                Wow - what a TOUGH night! After dinner last night, the wife and I talked ourselves right out of the plan~ we weren't satiably content with dinner and I wanted my Jim Beam and Diet Coke Caffeine Free and she wanted her chocolate - we both could have enjoyed some potatoes and gravy with our pork chops and sauerkraut too.

                We went to bed lusting for our evils and planned on modifying our diets today. We woke up this morning and both decided to get on the scales; I was down 4 pounds and she was down 3! We were both in weight ranges we hadn't seen in months so we agreed to keep on keepin' on with induction!!!

                I hadn't seen 249 on my scale in at least 4 months so it was very motivating ~ along with knowing I was going to fill in some blocks on my chart ~ and so here we go! Facing a new day, new bricks and new challenges and rewards. Knowing I had to come here and confess was also a HUGE contributor on pushing me through this. Thanks for your challenges, your stories/posts and your support.

                My chart is updated on at the bottom of page 1 of this post.

                Thank you to everyone reading too - watching the number of views keeps me inspired as well!

                Let's hit the bricks!!!

                  WooHOO!! Congrats on the weight loss! I totally agree that the scale is the best motivator. This morning I was feeling good too, and took a peek at the scale and I have lost too! I only count Wednesday morning weigh-ins on fit day, but it was awesome to see the loss anyway. Since I decided to skip weigh-in yesterday, I have to wait until next Wednesday to chart my loss with bricks. That said, the bricks are so motivating for me. I almost cheated the other night (because I just talk myself into that sometimes) but didn't because I challenged myself to get 50 bricks without a cheat and that is what I'm going to do!

                  So glad you made it through the temptation! GREAT job to you and your wife!!

                    All in all, it's just another brick in the wall! (Pink Floyd)

                    With 2 liters of water a day, I get enough exercise just walking to the bathroom 15 times a day!

                    Knowing I'm accountable to be here and update my chart on page 1 everday keeps me on course ~ Thank you!

                      Just checking in - but don't have my chart here at home. I'll update it on Monday. I didn't do too good the past two days - but will have a perfect dinner tonight. I'm trying to find new ways to cook brussel sprouts!

                        Official 1-week weigh-in; 6 pounds gone! (I updated my chart on the bottom of page 1)
                        22 meals / 22 bricks and NO cheating.
                        7 days down and hanging strong.
                        The wife made pizza with the pork rind crust...
                        D-licious! It was our little "treat" last night for making it a week with no infidelities!

                          having a tough time right now - was doing so well, but the last couple of days, my meals have been 'lazy'. It ends now! On to a good week of perfect eating and some lost poundage!!!

                            haven't tried the pork rind crust. I've made the cauliflower pizza and the deep dish one from lindas site - and they are both excellent. Will have to try this one!
