    I've been trying to make weight for my physical coming up. I had to be under 170 pounds or be disqualified. My body has been sitting at 170-173 forever now.

    Well the day came and I weighed in at 167.2 pounds

    I did a temporary water, egg whites, tuna only diet to push past 170.

    So now that I passed, how did I celebrate?


    Day 1 cheat
    1 giant cup of Mt. Dew
    1 Giant (and I mean Giant) plate of deluxe nachos


    Day 2 cheat
    1 Large plate of cookies (m&m style)
    1 Sammich(bread) +handful of chips

    2 days later my weight went from 167 to 175 I assume this is mostly water retention gain so I'm quite happy with the results.

    Once again I'm thrilled with my results, I love keto.

    Could they make it any easier? lol.

    Atkins is not about these silly temporary diets you are so pleased on doing.If you dont have the right nutrients that could be harmful.
    You cheated to celebrate after struggling to lose those lbs with a strict diet how silly was that and what did you achieve binging on that stuff?Whats the use of dieting if you were going to eat all that rubbish food for ayway.
    You say its water retention and dont mind putting on 8lbs in 2 days and being worser off than when you started well I really dont understand that.You will find out the hard way that its going to be back to square one and your going to struggle and try losing it again.
    I cant see nothing that your thrilled about and theres nothing positive about your post.Im sorry everyone im not usually harsh but this is just wrong!

        Anyways, I'm happy and I've got my sights set on a new goal weight and plenty of time to get there cause its not a race.

        I'm very happy with how everything has gone. It couldn't of been easier.

          Hmmm
          I had whipped cream and strawberries with roasted almonds yesterday. Nothing better. And my all time favorite - a piece of very dark chocolate with my coffee. I could not be more satisfied. Today I am not any more heavier than yesterday and I am having my favourite after run protein shake that just rock my day.
          That is a typical day of maintenance for me.
          Good luck on your journey. Looks like it will be a bit rocky. I hope it will mellow out.

            Congrats!! good for you if you wanna have a treat why not I say!!

            and knowing how hard those last few stubborn pounds can be, congrats!!!

            now you just got to get down to 173 which you can probably do with one work out!

              Eating non-Atkins isn't a "treat" ... for many it's a "punishment".

              And food using food as a "reward" isn't the best plan!

                I think the main issue and long term problem here is going to be motivation. You just wanted to lose to pass a test and now that you passed it you slipped. You have to find a reason to hang in there. Fatcells are still there - waiting to grow out again sending out lots of chemical signals and unless you find your strength, they will win and you will lose. Lots of luck.

                  Naw, the primary reason for me losing was I was uncomfortable overweight. My body hurt to walk etc.
                  1st goal was lose weight- done
                  2nd goal get to 180 lbs. I got to 170 lbs- done
                  After getting to 180 I figured job done but getting to 167= mind blowing.
                  3rd goal make weight for my physical- done
                  4th goal now get to 160 lbs and stay at 160lbs- current goal.

                  You have to find a reason to hang in there.

                  For me, its not really about "hanging" in there...I'm thinking of doing keto for life with occasional vacations to the junk food buffet table. My body seems to run alot better on keto in general.

                  Everybody is different but I know when to stop junk food and self control. In the big picture a weight gain of 10 lbs isn't going to make or break me...maybe it'll stop someone else.

                        The whole point of atkins is to change the way you eat, help your body have a better metabolism, increased energy, and lose weight.

                        So if you have done all these things who cares if you celebrate!? Yes its a lifestyle change, and yes certain carbs are bad for you, but if your in control, happy with your results, and 'wanna treat' then go for it!!

                        live your life with the diet as a guide, dont live your life by the diet!!

                        Congrats again!!
