  • Not sure

I've been on Atkins for about 2 years now. I never have fallen off the wagon and I'm pretty hard headed about doing things right. However, I still have 30 pounds to go I'm guessing and I don't think I've really lost anything is quite a while. It is probably due to enjoying too many of the bars/shakes or sugar-free candy for months or for the last few weeks the Julian's Bakery low carb bread. I just discovered the hidden carb counter and now the wind is out of my sails since much of what I've been eating has hidden carbs in it. I really want to push through this and I'd like to experience more results. I got rid of all of my sugar free candy and Atkins bars/shakes about 2 weeks ago. The only thing I've been having is the bread as a snack but due to the fact that the bread has about 4 carbs in each slice when you take into consideration the hidden carbs, I guess I need to get rid of that too. I guess meat, cheese, eggs and nuts will be my friend again. My lady friend tells me I just need to exercise but the weight should be coming off without that. Just venting but wondering if this is as good as it is going to get. Maybe I should go a different route all together if I really can't have anything.

    Re: Not sure

I should add that I drink about 6 diet drinks a day. I think today is that start of a no diet drinks experiment.

          Re: Not sure

I really haven't been drinking too much water for many months, maybe a glass a day and the rest are diet sodie pop. Me thinks this might be a good place to start.

              Re: Not sure

Yes why not switch the diet drinks for water and cut out the shakes and bars, maybe leave in a limited amount of the bread if it's important to you, and see what happens. You do need *some* exercise ...

You could maybe also go back to pre-maintenance if you still have 30lb to lose? It says in the pre-maintenance chapter that you should drop back by 10 grams of carb per day if you stop losing. So you would first need to track what you have been eating and then cut back by 10 carbs if cutting out the diet drinks and bars doesn't do it.

Two years!!! That is amazing. Way to go. So many here cannot make it through two days. And we have all the threads where people have to have a drink in induction because they cannot follow the rules for two weeks. DUH So two years is nice.

Join the veggie challenge. I bet that would help. Check in the Semi Annual Challenge Forum. A bit of vegggie shake up and cutting out on starchy carbs or carbs from sweeteners - is what I would try.

Also you don't give any stats? Where abouts are you weight and height wise?
