Drink more water, eat some green bell pepper and horseradish (not together, unless you just like it that way, LOL) if you have any around - bell pepper in your salad or with a little cream cheese spread on slices of it, maybe some horseradish in something you cook or stir a little into some mayo and use it like a dip for raw veggies.

Look for excessive sodium in any processed foods you eat and if there is a lot, which most lunchmeat type items are LOADED, try to reduce your consumption of those foods or at the least, space them out some and don't eat too many in any one day.

Exercise might help overall circulation also, and could help run some of that water out.

Not sure if you're taking BP meds, but they can cause water retention. I take Lotrel 10/40 and was having the same problem with my feet and lower legs--especially on hot days. My doc said it's a side effect of the med, and, as long as the leg tissue indention returns back to normal quickly, there is no circulation problem. Secondly, I increased my water intake (ounces) to equal half of my body weight and it completely resolved the problem--probabaly in conjunction with the Atkins way of living.

I'm only on day 10 right now.

            Good luck.

yep, I'm on blood pressure meds, but water retention is not one of the adverse effects.

                    That's 128 ounces.

At your weight, 125 would be a minimum ... why not try adding more water ... see if that helps.

I would also suggest mentioning it to your Dr. at your next visit. It is also a good idea to elevate your feet when you are sitting down. This helps in circulation.

My doctor already knows how it. I've had this problem for years. Also like to note, that by morning its all off. but throughout the day i put it back on.

I used to have this if I ate excess sodium and not enough water during the day, but since losing some weight, I don't notice it even IF I eat too much salt and don't drink enough water, which I still try to avoid doing.

                            There is hope, LOL!

                              Re: Water retention?

People tend to get edema in their feet and legs more so during the day, especially when standing for long periods of time. During the night, your feet are elevated and helps improve your circulation. Also try to avoid tighter socks or footwear. This helps the problem as well.
