  • Atkins-legal pasta?

Has anyone tried Dreamfields pasta? Supposedly it only has 5 g net carbs per 2 oz of dry pasta. Here is their website: (The info is on the right.)

Is this legal? And, if so, which rung would it be legal on?

    Thanks

I've heard some people still get a blood sugar spike from them, even though the label claims only 5 g of carbohydrate are digestible...

And when you try them, make sure you don't overcook them. Overcooking will increase the amount of digestible carbohydrates.

OWL Rung 9. If you read the ingredients, they contain grains.

Atkins For Life includes low-carb pastas, but as already stated are intended for Rung 9 and above. Technically I'm not there yet, but I do like the low-carb wraps like FlatOut or low-carb tortillas. For some odd reason I don't go crazy with them, don't suffer a spike in blood sugar... just ok with it. Now I know if I turn them into a trigger like fried up for chips and salsa I might as well go buy the regular stuff cuz I'm gonna cheat. LOL Pasta I haven't gotten the courage to try just yet, not even the "no-carb" Japanese noodles I saw at Whole Foods. Just something about it tells me I'd overdo it.

I have some in my cupboard but have not tried some yet.
When you get to rung 9 and you want to try it, (I am sure going to try some) make sure yo watch for portion size too - very small really (I am planning to mine with plenty of butter and cheese )
In the meantime spaghetti squash is a handy pasta substitute. That is what I have eaten with my pasta sauce or meatballs for the longest time.

It might even be better to wait until pre-maintenance.

And if pasta was one of your "demon" foods, never having it might been an even better choice.
