    You can eat as much as you need to satisfy your hunger and/or to avoid undereating. I don't know if that matches how much you "want" to eat.

    If you post a menu, we can take a look. Include quantities and net carbs for all foods, and total calories.

        Breakfast.........................5 pieces of bacon and three eggs
        lunch...............................8 large shrimp in butter and garlic
        dinner...............................ribeye steak with 1cup of broccoli
        64 ounces of water and a diet soda
        pickle as a snack

          You didn't write quantities (for everything) and net carbs.

          You are not eating enough vegetables. A cup of broccoli is definitely not enough!

          And while 64 oz of water is a minimum in DANDR, most people find it best to drink 1/2 their body weight in ounces.

          Each serving of diet soda (8 oz) counts as 1 serving of sweetener. Sweeteners are limited to 3 per day.

          And you don't need diet soda. It is allowed during Induction, but water is much better. Especially if you have an addiction to sodas, sweets or caffeine, Induction is the best time to break it.

          Read the info in those links J. posted.

            Sure eat all the meat you want, but please please please do not neglect your veggies! Looking over your menu I see no salad vegetables, and these are essential for success when doing Atkins. Remember our goal is to make permanent lifestyle changes, and man cannot live on meat alone. We must have balance, and the balance comes from good carbs we find in low GI foods like our vegetable friends.

            Did I mention eat your veggies? hehe

                thank you i did incorporate more veggies today 3 cups of salad
                breakfast..........3 sausages 2 eggs with cheese
                lunch................grilled chicken breast with 3 eggs devilled and a salad lettuce cucumbers
                dinner...............buffalo wings with lettuce and cucumber salad
                snack.................pork rinds
                and 72 ounces of water
                and lemon juice with 3 splenda packs

                  Much better than your last menu. It is helpful to read the Induction stickies for guidance. Keep working at the water. You will get up to 100 if you keep plugging away at it.

                    Don't forget to have fat

                    Check sausage for fillers - you do not want to eat sugary sausages (look for dextrose especially or corn syrup)

                    If you have chicken and veggies - add fat like butter or oil or mayo

                    buffoli wings - if you are sure there is no sugar on the coating

                    Cucumber salad - did you make it yourself? Watch for sugary dressings.

                    I liked your first menu better as it was fatter and I think cleaner but I do think you did a better job at adding veggies on your second menu

                      More water would be better.

                      If you're adding lemon juice and splenda to water, then it doesn't count as water any more ... just so you know.

                        Hello - I am a little Dazed and Confused,

                        I have read the 2002 Atkins book and saw the serving sizes in the back of the book...Are the portions of meat (chicken, beef, fish, etc) to be measured Raw or Cooked?

                          Great advice here for playtime221 I am taking it all in! lol. Thank you. The water thing seems to keep coming up, I thought I was drinking loads (& peeing loads, hehe) but may be 2 litres isnt enough. Also I sometimes find it a faff to get the salad or veggies prepared & am fulfilled with just the meat or chicken or fish but you have made me sit up & relaise I shouldnt do that, does it hinder weight loss or just bad for my health or both?
                          My first day on here today & I am hooked & inspired. Thank you x

                              You can prepare things ahead of time ... then you can avoid "faff".

                              Not having enough vegetables will likely hinder losing, and it's not nutritionally sound.
