I would say, "Thank you for thinking of me" ... and then I would move the cookies on to someone else.

If I couldn't do that, I would throw them out (yes, I would do that).

It was not cookies but it was pretty special
My family sent me some chocolate from the old country my first Atkins Christmas and I just love this chocolate (more than anything probably ) So I decided to throw it in the freezer thinking well if this does not work out I can always have it later. But I enjoyed losing weight and getting fit too much so I never got to that chocolate. I gave it to my kid after a year. She has the metabolism for it.

I do think what Rita is doing is interesting but it would not work for me. I am a kind of all and nothing person. And I just have to accept that. If I give in I think the whole roof will cave in on me. I am in a good spot right now so I do not have to worry. And on OWL I have introduced so many new and interesting foods that there are really no mayor issues out there as it used to be on induction. Induction is tough.

My goal is to make permanent lifestyle changes. I don't see the holidays as exceptional as far as my WOE goes any more than a diabetic would refuse insulin because after all it's the holidays.

My menu choices should provide me with plenty to eat and be satisfied while pleasing our guests:

cranberry salsa with cream cheese and flax crackers (regular crackers for guests)
        vegetable tray with ranch
        curried pumpkin soup
        roast turkey
creamed cauliflower (regular potatoes for guests)
green beans amandine (green bean cassrole, candied yams, cranberry sauce for guests)
pumpkin cheesecake (pumpkin pie for guests)
        Suzanne

          >> creamed cauliflower (regular potatoes for guests)>>

They might like the creamed cauliflower!

          >> green beans amandine >>

          They might like that, too!

          >>cranberry sauce for guests>>

If you make your own cranberry sauce (it's easy!), they'll eat it.

          >> pumpkin cheesecake (pumpkin pie for guests)>>

Maybe they would be happy with the cheesecake?

Maybe yes, maybe no. My momma told me formal dinners are no time to experiment on dinner guests. I'll offer both... traditional dishes I know will please them as well as new ones I have adopted into my WOE.

              True.

I was figuring you had made these things before ... so knew what they tasted like.

              You can certainly offer both!
