  • Something to subdue sweet craving during induction?

I'm curious if there is something I can eat or drink to combat the occasional urges for something that tastes sweet. Oddly I have a weird craving for something sweet and sour. Though my favorite candies include sour gummy worms, sour patch kids and lemon drops, so that probably explains the urge for something sweet and sour.

I've drank sugar free jello before but is there other options? Would sugar free lemonade work? It says 0g sugar and 0g carbs. Would that count as 1 of my 3 servings of Artificial sweeteners?

More ideally would be a sweet sugar free/carb free food though.

I like to add a splash of lemon or lime juice to my water. As to the sweet, check the recipes here on the boards for induction friendly desserts. Personally, though, I found that the longer I stayed true to induction the easier it got and fewer cravings for empty carbs came my way. Today I don't have cravings like I used to at all. Ok maybe for wings. Sometimes I just gotta have a chicken wing or I'll just DIE. LOL

I've actually been thinking about trying the low carb buffalo wings. Saw a recipe for them some where I believe.

The best way (this is not likely what you want to hear...) is to avoid sweets altogether. Try cheese or dill pickles. Avoiding sweets breaks the addiction & kills the cravings...it takes a few days/weeks depending on the person.

So, I should probably avoid the sugar free, carb free, 5 cal lemonade as well?

Yes. Don't forget that 8oz of a sweetened drink counts as 1 sweetener. Sweeteners of any kind are limited to 3/day. If you crave sweets, skipping the 3/day can help kill the cravings in the medium/long run.

Drink water ... you'll get used to it! I did.

I was thinking, now what could I use for buffalo wing sauce that has no carbs or sugar. I just went and looked through my cupboard and fridge.... Ironically it turns out the buffalo wing sauce I have is 0 carb/0sugar. Honestly never expected that.

Anyone know a substitute for BBQ sauce by chance? lol I know it's off topic.

George Stella's recipe website "Living la vida low carb" has a decent barbeque sauce. I made for my son this summer. I can't remember if it is Induction friendly but it is worth checking out.
