  • if your on a stall...please dont quit!!!!

I just wanted to let everyone know if your on a stall and your upset and just wanna give up KEEP GOING!!!! I was on a stall for about 3 weeks and just wanted to give up. No matter what diet i seem to do my body always would seem to get stuck around 162 and i never could conquer it...I almost had a melt down...i wanted to order a pizza and i soooo wanted to bust out a bottle of wine!! I didnt i hung in and im so happy..got on the scale today and i now weigh 159...

Yesterday i even went to a pizza shop for lunch with my mother in law..where she wanted to go.... (pizza is my drug of choice..lol...)
and i orderd stuff shrimp with crabmeat and a side of broccoli...i am so proud of myself...i am finally in control of food instead of it controlling me!!!

Thanks to everyone who takes the time to share there stories and post pictures..it's such an inspiration to all!! Good luck on your journey!!!

Lulusmommy, Great post. We all go through valleys, especially once the euphoria of the initial loss becomes more routine and we start to think about old 'treats'. It sounds like you have met the challenge. Nice work and really good post!

      Good advice!

but FYI....Dr. ATkins defined a weight loss plateau (AKA "stall") as 4 consecutive weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So your 3 weeks without losing a pound was not a "stall" per Dr. Atkins. In fact, if you have been losing inches during that time, you weren't in an Atkins-defined "stall".

        Wonderful post.
That is so hard to do. Hang in there when pounds are not moving. But it happens several times on our journey and we have to hang in there because it will move again.

I think waiting out a pause on the scale is probably one of the toughest parts of any weight loss program. Good for you for sticking it out.

              >>I was on a stall for about 3 weeks a>>

Perhaps moving to the phase of Atkins called "Ongoing Weight Loss" should be considered.

I am afraid of this because when i decide to do atkins (induction) Tom is not to far from the corner!

Then you should be at pre-maintenance.

Move to OWL ... "I am stalling over 2 weeks stuck" ... your body may be telling you something.

TOM is going to happen regardless.

You can't really succeed without OWL.

Hope that works out for you.

Dr. Atkins wrote the plan the way he did because it's what he found was best!

People who do it their way aren't always as successful.

Congrats me 'stalling' for a while was what initially caused me to cheat the first time I did Atkins...I was like 10 pounds from my goal and wasn't losing the way I wanted to so I said ok this is fine with me...and never lost the 10 pounds...
But now I'm at my heaviest ever...its silly the things we do when the dumb scale dont tell us the number we want...even ruining all your progress, Congrats for keeping with it!!!
