  • It's working!

Woo hoo! I moved up in OWLS again and weighed and measured. I didn't actually measure everything. I was just taking a peek. My calves are down 3/4-1 inch each. Thighs are down 1/2-3/4 inch each. Biceps are down 1/4 inch. Weight is down 2-2.5 lbs since last week. Woo hoo!!!

What's weird is I'm eating more carbs and less hungry. Odd. Love it!!! Gives me great motivation to stay on program during the holidays as much as possible. We're flying to Chicago and won't have car so we're sorta at the mercy of what's there. Hubby said we can borrow his parents' car and head to the grocery to get stuff we need. He does Atkins with me. Last time we were there, they tried to be supportive. They really did, but they didn't quite get it. They are doing a low fat diet per doc recommendation for high cholesterol...little do they know...tried to tell them too. Oh well. Anyway, they made lots of stir-fries but often with no meat. They made a veggie stir fry with pasta. I ate veggies for dinner and that's it. I was so hungry I wanted to eat my shoe!!! I'm bringing my magic bullet blender and will get stuff I need at the store to help. I'd like to make fauxtatoes for Thanksgiving too instead of potato. I plan to treat with a little cranberry sauce. I LOVE that. I'd rather have cranberry sauce and turkey than a slice of pie. Am I weird?

Anyway, things seem to be working okay. My tummy is still really bloaty (so I didn't measure it), but it must be working a little since I lost some. Breakfast was eggs with cheese and a fruit smoothie (full fat yogurt, 4 frozen strawberries, and 1/8 cup blueberries). Yum!

Make your own ... it tastes better and is legal!

Why don't you offer to make a few dishes that are Atkins legal for them to eat while you are there this time? Show them how you and your husband are "low carbing".

I'll try, but it's harder since it's not my house and not my kitchen. Happy Thanksgiving!
