  • Feeling my lowest..

    Hey Guys,
So things for me haven't been going too well :'( I'm not sure what my problem is- it's almost like i physically can't stick to this WOE as much as i want to! My aunt was developing old cameras the other day and she had a few pics of me on there. I almost cried when i saw them because it was during my time of atkins WOL & i was a 6 juniors.. I know that my body just responds soo well to the foods that Atkins introduces you to eat, but i guess its just since my life has changed so much, going from having a baby and being happy to doing a 180 ending up in an unhappy marriage and turning to food for comfort. I Never had a weight problem until after the birth of my son. I know that I just have to suck it up and do it, but i just wish i knew why if im soo unhappy with myself, and i KNOW that happiness with my appearence is only a matter of months away- then whats my problem?! It really is so nice to have people to turn to and share my feelings with! Thanks for listening- sorry for the depressing topic lol

    Re: Feeling my lowest..

Just speaking for myself I find that blogging or keeping a journal of feelings and responses and so forth like your post here help me tremendously. It stays all in one place so I can go back and reread the posts and discover so much more about ME as I'm the only one who can effect the changes I want to see in my body and lifestyle. It's my choice to graze on garbage or to eat meals of healthy food. I consider it a spiritual journey as well. You don't have to take the journey alone. Glad to see you on ADBB.

Oh, sweetie! I wish I could be there and just give you a hug but I can't. I totally understand how you feel. Babies have a way of changing your body & metabolism, and a hard marriage...is....just....very....hard.

Sometimes when life feels out of control, we tend to loose control of all areas of our life but the BEST thing to do is to regain control in one area and then life starts to get put back into perspective. YOU can do this, every day, every bite you can take control of this area. Only YOU can control what you eat and NO ONE can take that away from YOU!

It isn't easy to do this, but anything that is worthwhile is hard. If you fall, pick yourself back up and move on but as long as you keep putting one foot in front of the other, you will succeed.

Remember....every day is a new beginning full of promise.

        Re: Feeling my lowest..

So sorry to hear you're having difficulties.

Try to make your next meal an Atkins one and take it from there... baby steps. Always focus on how you'll feel on reaching goal weight and on how horrid you'll feel just seconds after giving in to a craving. Keep the image of your slim self firmly in your mind.

Always have a high fat snack to hand for when you get into those difficult moments. That really helps you win the challenge.

Once you get into the right mindset (some of which is habit) then you'll find you get encouraged by your results. It gets easier as you go along, believe me. All you have to do is follow the plan to the letter. That's the way to success.

You can do it! We're all here to help... it's a road we all know well.

          Re: Feeling my lowest..

Just keep trying every day till you get one whole perfect day. It may take awhile. Also, so much has been going wrong, maybe you aren't feeling like you are worth the effort right now. You gotta start telling yourself "I am better than this. I deserve better for myself." You have to say it enough to start believing it. Then you will want to make positive change. You are making yourself your own victim in this. Stop. You are a beautiful intelligent woman who deserves to treat her body better than that. If you get one good day, and then one good week down, you will be on your way. Keep slugging away at it and don't beat yourself up if you can't make it a full day. Just try your hardest to commit every day until it finally happens.

So sorry you feel this way. I do understand how you feel...I don't really know why I self sabatoged myself for as long as I did. I can't even really pinpoint what it was that got me past that and I feel like it is a choice I make everyday to not do that anymore.
So what Jill said is true...one day at a time. You can do it and we are here to help. Suzanne's advice about writing is also an excellent idea.

            Take care!

mom22 - you bring out the mom in me...I just want to send a hug! There is no one that can keep you on plan but you, trust yourself, trust this plan - you know it works, you've been there before. I'm sorry that you had a bad marriage, but you still have you! Take care of yourself, you are so worth it! Good Luck.
