  • Thanksgiving Dinner

We did Thanksgiving last night as both my hubs and I work today.

    Turned out well.

Made a ham ... did not put anything on it much to hubs dismay ... but it was goooooooooood.

I know there's sodium, but my high blood pressure meds have a diuretic in it and I'll drink extra water.

Made hubs mashed potatoes and gravy and corn ... but I made myself .... and it was sooooooooooooooo good ..... mashed turnips with a little butter, heavy cream and cream cheese, salt and pepper. Yum, a new favorite.

Also made some green beans sauteed in onion, bacon and mushrooms .... love those; and some deviled eggs and some stuffed jalapeno baked poppers .....

I was very satisfied and happy with my dinner.

That sounds delish! I've been afraid to depart from my mashed cauliflower for some mashed turnip - but you've given me some courage to get adventurous!

Oh you have got to try them. This will be a staple and I never felt I was missing a thing. Because the turnips HAD TASTE and face it mashed potatoes are kinda bland.
