    Re: happy thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving, Tom and all you ADBB peeps!!!

Thanks to all of your support today I managed to stay true to this WOE. Only one regret, that I did overeat (because the veggie tray, turkey, fauxtatoes, asperagus, hollandaise sauce, and green beans amandine were just too good to resist). On the other hand I made my wildly popular mashed potatoes... no cheats... put out the snack foods along with low-carb healthy choices... no cheats... and really just had a ball with my family. They are so encouraging and nobody tried to tell me cmon eat just one bite... instead they shared my healthier choices.

Hopefully the meal will digest sometime in the next 24. LOL

          Re: happy thanksgiving everyone!

Well, I didn't do as well as you all. Congratulations for staying on track. I, unfortunately, did not. I was on my 11th day of Induction today, and we went to Shoney's for Thanksgiving buffet (per my hubby's request). I started great with a salad, but when I went for some turkey and green beans I realized that the turkey they had was all covered in gravy. And the green beans were absolutely yucky--how do you make bitter green beans?? I thought there was no getting away from cheating at that point, and I gave in to some traditional stuffing, potatoes, and cranberry sauce.

I know I should have made turkey, fauxtatoes, etc. at home. My hubby really wanted to go to Shoney's! Well, I fell off the wagon, and am getting right back on tomorrow. I am making some meatballs tomorrow and restarting my Induction. Spinach, broccoli, mushrooms, celery, cukes, zukes, etc. back on the menu.

Anyway, congratulations to all of you who made it through today and every day without cheating/falling off the wagon. I hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving and had a wonderful time with friends and family.

              Re: happy thanksgiving everyone!

Happy Thanksgiving! I did ok..one or two slip ups which I hadn't planned. I was on plan but had about a Tablespoon of potatos (at this point in the rungs, I don't see that as a huge problem) and I did have a very small slice of pie. It is over and done with and I knew what I was doing when I had it. So, onward we go. I am not going to feel bad or guilty.

The nice thing was that my parents were genuinely interested in Atkins. I explained the whole plan to them and they asked a lot of questions and were very supportive. They never once said anything negative or tried to get me to eat anything off plan. The only thing they said was "you really eat salad every day for lunch??".

              I have a ton of leftover turkey..yay!

                Re: happy thanksgiving everyone!

This was my 1st Thanksgiving ever that I did not eat mashed potatoes, dressing, bread, and pecan pie. Funny thing is I didn't really want it nor did I miss it.

My husbands family tried telling me that I could not live with out carbohydrates. I told them yeah, I know. I get mine from veggies. Then one of his aunts tried telling me that I needed things like bread and pasta. I just laughed. Then she told me that I would become a diabetic one day cause I don't get carbs from pasta, bread, etc. Know it alls, don't ya just love em?

Liv, I've not seen any before/after of you until today. Very impressive. You do not look like the same person.
