  • Multivitamins with Iron??????

Hi, I'm new to Atkins, an expat living in Mumbai, good quality multivitamins are hard to get here, however i have some that i had brought with me from UK, only problem is they contain 5mg of Iron, Is there any harm in the Iron? I checked the kids vitamins and they have 6mg and the only Indian ones i have seen are 9mg, so should i take the one with the lowest number or avoid all together? I am also taking a seperate omega3,

    Any thoughts

You can read about iron here: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...uss-about.html

If I were you, I would ask my doctor if it's okay for me to take a multivitamin with iron.

Can't you find a multivitamin for men? Or a senior multivitamin? Those should not have iron.

I would finish the bottle and then maybe go on-line and order some without if possible

I hadn't thought about senior vitamins...I'm avoiding that word, having turned 50 last summer. I should try those.

I'm 32 and take the senior vitamins, there's no stigma attached, it's just hard to find any other type of vitamin that has no iron.

5 grams of iron isn't that bad... most of the multi-vitamins here have 18 grams of iron per day.

I think taking the vitamins is more important than being afraid of the small amount of iron.

"SENIOR" has nothing to do with getting "older". It just means you start getting some discounts!!! (LOL)

I turned 60 in October, so now I have a free bus pass, can get free prescriptions if I need them and get discounts on entry to attractions too! Even get 20% off a 'main meal' on Thursdays at one of our local cafés

Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

That's right, Elizellen. I even got a "Senior" Discount at my club at age 55. Made it an even bigger incentive when I joined!

No discounts for me just yet.
I started taking my multi at lunch instead of at breakfast. It has iron AND calcium. Maybe that will help a little, less chance of an interaction with synthroid.
